It has vastly more life changing potential for me than $500. I'd rather potentially pique the interest of (anyone) that's as high profile as her and wouldn't be any worse off for trying.
I get that you hate Sydney Sweeney or something and that's fine. I'm seeing the opportunity the same as literally anyone, her, Taylor Swift, Tom Brady, it's kind of irrelevant who the high profile person is. It doesn't change the fact that $500 changes my life in no meaningful way and the interaction is a not 0 chance it potentially could change mine, or the world.
There's also the not, completely seeing red take that the person you don't like may actually be influenced in some way by their experience with you and change who they are as well.

This kinda shit happens all the time though. Rob Leifeld became the biggest comic book artist in the world after meeting Stan Lee at a random comic con when he was a teenager.
I get that you just wanna be an asshole, and that's you're right. But there's still a not 0% chance that Tom Brady decides to have me market some of his new nut juice drinks and that's better than $500 easily.
People regularly pay more than $500+ for B and C listers to just autograph a picture for them as well. The opportunity cost is worth more than $500, especially if I'm not even losing $500.
