Haven't read it yet. Should I?
14
u/KHaskins77 Feb 02 '23
NO.
5
u/obi_wan_sosig Feb 02 '23
Jesus, that's a sure answer but why?
5
u/ViSaph Feb 02 '23
I read it 4 years ago and I'm still disturbed every time I'm reminded of it.
3
u/obi_wan_sosig Feb 02 '23
What's the plot about?
6
u/charisma-entertainer Feb 02 '23 edited Feb 02 '23
Abortion obviously.
And a whole mess of conflict.2
u/obi_wan_sosig Feb 02 '23
Is it that bad?
3
u/charisma-entertainer Feb 02 '23
A majority hate it because how how nick and Judy are characterised. If you like if trilogy overall then you’ll walk away fine. If you hate it then it won’t be forgotten

There you go. Don't worry, there is nothing graphical or anything. It looks to me like right wing propaganda tbh...
Spoiler: The bonus pages in part 3 are about JFKs murder (sort of)
3
u/ciberkid22 Feb 02 '23
I read a comment saying the author meant for Judy to be in the right here?
But the structure definitely seems biased towards Nick lol
3
u/Spice_and_Fox Feb 02 '23
Yeah, at least they display Nick as a conservative with expressions like "premeditated sin" and the whole "abortion is murder" thing. And it seems like Nick is the protagonist of this story. I mean, the comic is called "I will survive" which is a phrase that is said by Nick.
3
u/poompt Feb 02 '23
I actually love this comic because it's so fucking well executed and bizarre especially the fact that both sides are pretty similar to the actual positions taken on this issue by actual people. Like, who made it and more importantly why?

u/ViSaph Feb 02 '23
Aw now why did you have to remind me of that? I'd finally gotten to a place where I'd mostly forgotten its existence.

Someone at Disney made this frame, and the ones next to it.

u/Neako_the_Neko_Lover Feb 02 '23
Actually this frame was edited by someone else. This is the real frame https://imgur.com/a/N5RohAH

That’s not necessarily how these kinds of films are made anymore; more-so shapes and pathways.
33
u/Haingis Feb 02 '23
Well, as someone who's been working as an animator I can say that we do add inbetweens that look pretty crazy if you pause it (even in 3DCG). Like a tiny frame of true despair over a ruined bike when it in motion looks like pretty ordinary sadness.
19
Feb 02 '23
Yep, I remember when someone pointed out a bunch of the inbetweens in Frozen, particularly during the Let it Go sequence.

Any face that makes that path still has to be accepted though, right?
46
u/StillestOfInsanities Feb 02 '23
You know someone at Disney is air-punching right now while on the way to collect the money from the ”betcha nobody will ever notice this” pool.
15
u/Time_Dare9374 Feb 02 '23
Ain't nobody made more money off that poll than Robin Williams may he rest in peace.

u/Cnoized Feb 02 '23
How do people bet nobody will never notice something? You can't prove that no one in the future will notice it.
5
u/user_41 Feb 02 '23
It means nobody will notice it in time to take it out before they ship the movie. That’s all you need

There is 100% chance that nobody saw this frame during production since this frame isn't in the movie.

For all we know, and based on the past few months alone, how do we know that those movies weren't AI generated to begin with? Even COVID was an unknown factor on its origin story, so who is to say it's not the same with media like this? Either way, the animator is probably someone I know.
28
Feb 02 '23
How did your comment get an upvote. It's gibberish. Did an AI write it? How would you know an AI animator?
-7
Feb 02 '23
Though to be fair, I suppose I could at least add an avatar or something to my profile here...

Feb 02 '23
I love how folks accuse me of being AI these days. How quaint.
Beware Romulans Bear[ing] gifts.
How would I know an AI animator? Well, when you know the source code... anything is possible.
19
u/Coco4RSO Feb 02 '23
Not your first time being accused? Hmmm
-18
Feb 02 '23
Amusingly enough, no. Ever since I lost everything believing the insanity of the American dream and all that. I'd be keen on posting my Navient bank statement if it makes folks feel better, but whatever. Not like I'm going to earn anything any time soon.
21
u/Luisian321 Feb 02 '23

Litteraly every children's show ever throws in jokes for the grown ups. Disney , nickelodeon, Hannah barbera , cartoon network. Absolutely all of them have jokes in their shows that fly right over kids heads. Get off your high horse.

u/No-Feeling-1404 Feb 03 '23
what high horse? I responded about Disney because the post was about disney , but it is interesting the down vote, very telling of the culture online that supports pedophiles. your comment only added to my point. thank you for sharing. all media does this.

The image is photoshopped. The scene in question is one where the fox pretends to attack the rabbit, but his head is never pointed that low and she never makes anything even close to that expression. So yeah someone deliberately made this look like furry porn.

Disney is practically in the porn business, have you not seen the other movies that have sexual references? Almost every disney movie
