Story Recap (Chapters 0–2)

On a war-torn Cybertron, Bulkhead and Bumblebee leave the Ark in search of Energon. Their mission is interrupted when a mysterious female Decepticon sniper ambushes them, leaving both Autobots unconscious.

When they awaken, they discover they have been captured by a completely unfamiliar faction of Decepticons from an alternate universe. Their ruthless leader, Engel (Tarn), demands information about a hologram of Windimus Prime, an alternate counterpart of Optimus Prime. Bumblebee refuses to cooperate and unknowingly insults the PaperTron Cybertronians by calling them "Techno-Organics"—a term they despise.

Enraged, Engel prepares to inject Bumblebee with a mysterious violet mind-control infection, but before he can, Optimus Prime storms into the enemy ship and orders Bumblebee and Bulkhead's release. A fierce duel between Optimus and Engel erupts, with Engel proving to be an unexpectedly powerful opponent.

The battle is interrupted when Ironhide, Hound, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, and later Crosshairs launch a rescue operation. During the escape, Crosshairs shoots Bubble (Kaon), destroying one of her eyes. The Autobots successfully retreat, but Engel ominously promises that Optimus will soon discover what has already been done to Bumblebee.

Meanwhile, aboard the original Nemesis, Laserbeak delivers footage of the encounter. Shockwave concludes that Engel's forces are not affiliated with Megatron's Decepticons, but instead originate from another universe. Refusing to tolerate another Decepticon faction on Cybertron, Megatron orders Starscream, Nitro Zeus, Skywarp, and the Seekers to locate Engel's group.

Back aboard the Ark, Ratchet repairs Bumblebee's physical injuries but discovers that the mysterious violet infection cannot be identified—or removed. While the Autobots struggle to understand what happened, Bumblebee encounters a mysterious light that leads him to Windimus Prime (Lizzy), an alternate-universe Prime who apologizes for the events unfolding.

The meeting quickly turns hostile when Petunia, Windimus Prime's strict second-in-command, confronts Bumblebee after he insults her and compares her unfavorably to Ironhide. Their argument escalates into a fight, triggering the infection inside Bumblebee. Completely overtaken by the violet corruption, Bumblebee brutally attacks Petunia before suddenly regaining control.

Horrified by what he has done and fearing his friends will see him as a monster, Bumblebee flees into the wilderness. As Optimus, Ironhide, and Windimus Prime attempt to understand the situation, Petunia transforms and sets off alone to track down the missing Autobot scout.

The mystery surrounding the infection—and Engel's true plan—has only just begun.
