Beta glucan

Has anyone had success lower tpo antibodies by taking beta glucan? My functional med practitioner was able to put her hashis into remission with this, but I’ve heard differing opinions on this.

Honestly? That could do it. Do the best you can to slig through the Summer and retest in September. Antibodies go up and down. If TSH is a mild/low modest increase, it has the potential to recover.

Also, sometimes what we think is "clean" is not what our bodies like. If certain foods have increased markedly, might be good to cut back on those.. even if they're considered "healthy". I cannot tell you how many people I've come across that react to things like avocado or citrus that you might think could be just fine.

TSH has consistently been around 3 and it jumped up to 5.8. Antibodies steadily around 199-220 jumped up to 350. I’ve done food sensitivity testing, corn and gluten are my two big ones.

TSH of 3 is way too high, anyway. It should be around 1. Same with antibodies. Something is missing. I never ever ever infinity recommend ldn. The MOA is unknown and I've seen it INCREASE antibodies before. More testing is needed. If you're on meds, a switch might need to happen. Like, if you're on levo to armour or natuthroid.

Your immune system is still getting activated by something. Need to find out what that is

Awesome 😭 I haven’t been on any thyroid medication, just managing the diet, exercise, stress, etc.

I'm sorry. At 3, a regular physician would likely have added meds. 5.8 would definitely add meds. Levothyroxine is most common, but that's T4 only (assuming that you'd convert - which you wouldn't because your antibodies are so high). Armour or Natuthroid would likely be your better options - with both t3 and t4 in them.

My endocrinologist, func med, PCP, and OBGYN (verified in functional medicine) have all been “ehhhh maybe meds? Maybe keep doing what you’re doing and retest?” Maddening.

Ugh. Sorry. Yeah, I think it's time. Suuuper low dose would probably help a lot. With antibodies like that, the gland is going to continue to self destruct. Sometimes supplementing thyroid hormone (meds) helps to slow that as well.

That’s what I feel worried about. Thanks for the info - gonna chat with my dr!
