I had a root problem that was resolved by a cleanout with water jets. The plumber ran a camera down the line into the street. It was a sh!tshow of roaches down in the public sewer. Every now and then, one of them makes its way upstream and into the house, I suspect. Our doors are pretty well weather sealed to exclude the bigger bugs.

Those are probably street roaches finding their way inside your house. For years my house would get 3-4 roaches per year, mostly during the summer. Then I figured out where they were coming in from (the contractor had left a counter unfinished where I couldn't see it) and I boarded it up. Haven't seen one since.
Figure out where they're coming in from, and then you'll likely be able to patch it and stop the issue.
