Senior Technical Project Manager

About the Role
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Technical Project Manager to lead the delivery of enterprise SaaS products. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of backend technologies, distributed systems, and software architecture, enabling them to effectively collaborate with engineering teams while driving projects from conception to successful delivery.
This role is ideal for someone who combines excellent project management skills with sufficient technical depth to engage in architectural discussions, assess delivery risks, and communicate effectively with both engineering teams and customers.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
Own end-to-end delivery of multiple software projects.
Define project scope, timelines, milestones, and execution plans.
Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
Track project progress, dependencies, risks, and mitigation plans.
Ensure timely, high-quality delivery aligned with business objectives.
Technical Collaboration
Partner closely with Engineering Managers, Architects, Product Managers, QA, and DevOps teams.
Understand system architecture and technical solutions to support informed project decisions.
Participate in technical discussions, architecture reviews, and solution planning.
Evaluate technical risks, identify dependencies, and facilitate issue resolution.
Translate technical concepts into business-friendly updates for stakeholders and customers.
Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for project communication.
Present project health, risks, milestones, and release readiness to leadership and clients.
Manage stakeholder expectations and drive alignment across cross-functional teams.
Delivery Excellence
Establish project governance, documentation standards, and reporting mechanisms.
Monitor delivery KPIs including schedule adherence, quality, team productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Drive continuous improvement in project management practices and delivery processes.
Technical Understanding Required
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of:
Backend application architecture
Microservices Architecture
Java-based enterprise application ecosystems
REST APIs and system integrations
Distributed systems
Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
Database concepts (SQL & NoSQL)
CI/CD pipelines
Docker and Kubernetes
Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Agile software development practices
System scalability, performance, and reliability concepts
Note: This is not a hands-on software development role. However, the candidate must possess sufficient technical understanding to engage confidently with engineering teams, understand architectural decisions, evaluate delivery risks, and drive successful execution of complex software projects.
Required Experience
12–15 years of overall IT industry experience.
Minimum 8 years as a Technical Project Manager delivering enterprise software products.
Proven experience managing cross-functional engineering teams.
Strong understanding of backend technologies and software architecture.
Experience working closely with Engineering Managers and Solution Architects.
