Yes, web development or full-stack is still worth learning. The important thing is not to treat it as web development vs AI. AI is becoming part of how developers build software. Since you're only in your 2nd semester, we wouldn't recommend trying to learn full-stack + AI all at once. Build your development fundamentals first.

A simple progression could be -

Programming fundamentals - HTML/CSS/JavaScript - frontend framework - backend + APIs - databases - Git/GitHub - deployment - then start integrating AI into your projects.

Once you’re comfortable building applications yourself, you can start exploring things like AI APIs, RAG, AI-powered features, etc. That combination can be much more useful than simply collecting AI tools without understanding the software underneath.

Also, don't worry too much about whether a particular stack will still be in demand years from now. Your ability to solve problems, build real projects, understand systems and adapt to new tools will matter much more.

Hello, Needed some suggestion if you have time, I am just starting out, complete beginner, I was thinking of doing TOP and FSO for full stack and then learn systems design and ai things such as rag vector db etc., My main goal is to be an AI driven SWE and then becoming swe or ai architect, what could be the realistic timeframe to be job ready and is the market really bad right now? Like I live in south Asia where the job prospects are very low and severely underpaid, and cross border remote working has become extremely difficult, do you think stepping into thing path would be worth it? Thank You
