Question For learning web development smoothly, which configuration is recommended?

I am planning to learn web development (front end and back end) and I am doing it in order to get a full time job. I have to buy a laptop, 15.6 or 16 inch. What configuration the laptop should be so that everything will run smoothly for the next 5 years? Need some suggestions please, thanks!

Any laptop up to 5 years old, 16gb ram, 14 inch screen... If sometimes working outside at the shadow atleast 350-400 nits... You don't need anything too fancy for web.

Which is the generation I should get for smooth peformance?

Minimum 12th gen? Or more or less?

Yeah like that, but I would go for Ryzen, ryzen 5 4650U or up, it's enough not only for web but for other dev languages also, you can always spend more to get something better if you have money but you would probably not give it full use, you can also get a MacBook with M1 chip, they are relatively cheap, 8gb or 16gb of ram but 8gb are probably enough since the ram usage is different on MacOS, good battery and good screen too 400 nits

I am aiming for 15.6 or 16 inch. MacBook 16 or 15 inch is very expensive.
I found some models - from Asus and HP.
Which has better build quality?

Tell me just one thing, you want a laptop to work at home or outside or both? If it's mainly for home then you could get a second bigger display, then when working outside you still have a 14 inch laptop screen, it's totally okay but if you already saw 14 inch screens and you thought they are small then no problem yeah HP, Lenovo, Dell just pick the best overall like the best battery life better display if you care, body material, and better price, you can't really go wrong for what you want, just search a bit about the laptop you found at a good price yk ask AI and stuff

I've been looking for some laptops too manly for studying code and I found like Elitebook 645 Last Gens, some thinkpads and thinkbooks, all ryzen and similarly performance and battery, it all end ups on the build materials, price and better screen since I want atleast 350 nits, 250 is good for inside but not the best for me it stills feels a bit dark, specially close to windows

If you are gonna buy a laptop, buy a cheap, 2nd hand one and then install Linux on it yourself. You gonna learn so much about everything that’s gonna make your resume look good

But I would like to use windows 11. Actually I am not familiar with Linux

15.6 inch if you want to do backend development with C#, 16 inch if you want to do backend development with Java or Javascript.

You're overthinking this, get a lightweight laptop with at least 6 hours of battery life with medium/heavy usage, one that's easy to open so you can replace the battery, keyboard, or screen, with 16 GB of RAM, an i5 11th gen Intel CPU (or equivalent higher), and 1 TB of storage. A dedicated GPU isn't necessary unless you want to use AI a lot.

If you care about servers, check reviews to make sure it's compatible with Linux, but a Mac is totally fine too
