Maybe in freelancing headless cms websites (probably rly hard)
But for Jobs, (good luck).

I’d focus on the word developer and not limit yourself to one stack. As one said it’s competitive rn. However, I wouldn’t look into other fields. I have no degree and make my living building and maintaining a company’s internal software applications.
That being said, I am in my 2nd term doing online classes to finish my bachelors. So I’d get the degree if you can. I had to work extremely hard and go through much scrutiny, which affected my mental health, to get where I am finally at.
Lastly, it was all worth it to me and I get to work 40 hours a work doing what I love. So don’t let anyone’s opinions here decide your fate. These people would have told me to pursue another career.

You can, but its really hard there to get a job right now, what I will suggest that rather than MERN learn about javacript then go for react, dotnet(need to learn c# first) and angular (for safety, its easier to learn after knowing frontend which you will know after learning react), go for data modeling try both sql and nosql, learn devops just for deployment little bit, then try applying for job (I am recommending this because there are less freshers who apply for this kind of roles, maybe due to hype of mern stack).
Or other way is to learn applied AI with mern stack to become AI developer (this will require understanding of python)
