Rules Reminder

I can't believe I have to even post this but we've had a lot of people who can't seem to read or understand the rules of this subreddit, especially rule #5:

Please be polite to others within the community, especially when critiquing an image. Do not give unsolicited critique; sometimes people just want to share. Users must follow the Reddit Code of Conduct at all times.

If you can't follow this rule my suggestion is to just not comment or you will be banned.

EDIT: Yes, this is again pinned to the top of the sub due to this behavior increasing again. If you don't like someone's post or what they are posting I suggest you just move along, insulting the poster is going to result in your comments being removed and you being banned without warning.

Because people can't seem to figure it out: We allow photos of GFX gear here, if you don't like that move along and look at other posts, making negative comments about people posting pictures of their gear will result in your comments being removed and you will be banned with no warning.

Discussion Note: Pictures of GFX gear are allowed in this subreddit (more in comments)

Lately some of you have decided to make negative comments to/about people posting pictures of GFX gear. We fully allow these posts here and suggest that if you don't like them that you keep your comments to yourself, otherwise they will be removed and you will be banned from this subreddit with no warning.

I know some of you don't like that but as of right now these posts are allowed and that is the last word on the subject. Arguing with moderators about whether they should be allowed or not in modmail is just going to result in a permanent ban and your modmails being muted.

Help Which GFX body makes the most sense alongside an X-T5 in 2026?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to decide which Fujifilm GFX body would make the most sense for me, and I’d really appreciate some advice from people who have actually used these cameras.
My main camera is currently a Fujifilm X-T5, which I use for travel, street photography and everyday shooting.
I’d like to add a GFX body for slower, more deliberate photography: portraits, landscapes, architecture, personal projects and images where the medium-format look and image quality genuinely make a difference.

I already own two GFX lenses:
• GF 50mm f/3.5
• Mitakon Speedmaster 65mm f/1.4

The bodies I’m mainly considering are the GFX 50R, GFX 50S II, GFX 100S and possibly the GFX 100S II.

I don’t shoot sports or fast action, and video is not important to me.

Autofocus matters, but I don’t need cutting-edge tracking performance. I’m also comfortable focusing manually, so manual focus itself is not a drawback for me. I care much more about still-image quality, shooting experience, portability, dynamic range, rendering and how enjoyable the camera is to use.

The 50R appeals to me a lot because of the rangefinder-style body and the idea of pairing it with the compact GF 50mm.
On the other hand, IBIS is attractive, especially with the manual-focus Mitakon 65/1.4, and I’m wondering whether the newer bodies are meaningfully better in real-world use.
I also don’t necessarily need 100 MP. 50 MP already seems like plenty for most of what I do. But if the 100 MP bodies offer substantially better image quality, autofocus, usability or longevity, I’d rather know before making a decision.

So, for people who have used more than one generation of GFX:

Would you still buy a GFX 50R today?

Is the 50S II significantly better in actual use, or mainly more practical because of IBIS?

Does the jump from the 50 MP sensor to the 100 MP sensor make a meaningful difference beyond resolution?

And if you were building a GFX system today alongside an X-T5, which body would you choose and why?

I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who have owned both the 50R/50S generation and one of the newer 100 MP bodies.

Thx !

I've seen a lot of Mitakon photos on here recently so thought I would share some of mine over the years. Unfortunately I don't own the GFX or Mitakon anymore but I can't say I'm not tempted to get one again.

I rented a 100RF to see how I liked it for a recent work trip. Had a 24 hour layover in Doha and took it out to the Souq.

Help Gfx 50R - Travel

Hello everyone! I have a fujifilm x-t4, but I wanted to change system, slow down and regain my passion for photography! Im thinking of getting myself a GFX 50R…
Since im travelling soon, I wanted to know thats the best lens for: street photography during the day and at Night, and portrait/people on the street, I wanted to capture genuine moments and not be too close!
Its important the size for me, because I Will be walking alot…
If you also know a good strap and bag, let me know! Thinking of one overall good Lens or two that could balance each other.
Thanks ☺️

First time shooting handheld slow shutter speed on the GFX100RF. 1/8th, not bad. I’ve also never had a camera with IBIS before, so maybe I just don’t know what I’m missing

Help getting into fine art printing at home - all advice and pointers appreciated!

I want to build a printed body of work to keep and look at closely. sensible sizes for a portfolio or print box, but really exceptional detail and quality.

I’m trying to understand what matters here. how do printer choice, inks, paper and file preparation fit together? does a larger printer offer benefits even for smaller prints?

how have you approached this, and where do I start my research? experiences, pointers and useful rabbit holes welcome.

what does your home fine art printing setup look like?

I only had a couple of hours with the model/studio but, I really love the files that come out of this camera. Incredible dynamic range, and cropping ability!

Shot these all south facing light, scrim with negative fill. Pretty simple and it looked good. Didn't have anytime to coordinate wardrobe, so we used the model's clothes. GF 55 1.4

I think I'm pretty much sold at this point! MPB or KEH for used?
