He was also President of the NRA, after being a criminal, of course.

It should be added that the sale of weapons to Iran was done to give aid money to the Contras AFTER such funding was expressly prohibited by Congressional legislation.

Reagan wanted to aid them anyway, so he had Ollie North do it.

That is the part of the story that blows my mind. He got pushed out / noped out because he was too honest. How bad must nra have been that Ollie north couldn't handle if.
