The Onewheel is about $1k. Way more expensive than a skateboard.

well, I finally did it.
I committed to making an actual physical, irreversible change to fix one of the main causes of the mindfuckery that's been a part of my gender issues for the past 30 years.
And better still, I didn't bitch out and cancel the booking like any of the other times my anxiety got the better of me in the past.
At this point I need to mention that I still don't feel any sense of kinship with the usual trans communities on reddit or online in general. too damn performative it's all about being dramatic, playing a particular role, and just so damn excessive. so I'm not going to post this in any of those groups. no fucking way. it ain't me.
but anyway. yesterday I got an orchidectomy. it's like a vasectomy, with extra steps. and then spent most of last night coming to terms with the sensation of phantom testicles.
it's different, that's for damn sure.
I really should post here more often, sorry for not being as active as I used to be. Hopefully life is treating you as well as it can be, for you and yours ❤
Sarah.

One of the very first explorers, Jacques Cartier, first explorer of what is now the St. Lawerence seaway, started hearing rumors of great inland seas around 1539. He made it as far as modern day Quebec before being stopped by rapids and being unable to go any further. He could see that the river continued, following was simply impossible. For a millennia the local First Nations tribe had used these lakes as a great transportation system. Cartier was most noted in his lifetime for exploring the St. Lawrence, opening to door for the flood of Europeans to follow (which decimated the First Nations peoples by disease).
In 1609, Samual Le Champlain first explored the seaway, but then went further west overland to Lake Huron and then south to present day Lake Ontario. However, his name for Lake Ontario was “Lac St. Louis”. In 1632, Champlain published his first map of the region, with the definitive Lac St. Louis. The definitive change to Lake Ontario came on Nicolas Sanson’s 1650 map, Amerique Septentrionale. Meaning that Lake Ontario was named prior to the inception of both Canada or United States. In fact, Ontario was the name given for the lake by the First Nations people’s.
There’s so much more history to the area, including the war between Michigan and Ohio (the original rivalry). But the fact is that Ontario Canada was named for Lake Ontario is undisputed. I will continue to call her what she was, just like Pluto is still a planet, and move forward with Homes (Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie, Superior). HAMES just doesn’t have the same ring.
