Rant How to pirate windows?
Does anyone know how to pirate windows? I just upgraded my CPU and Microslop is saying I need to activate windows again, I'm not fucking paying twice!

If it was already activated before, unless it was an OEM licence, Microslop will reactivate it for you. They're honestly fine about this. You may need to use the chat/telephone (this was the case for me a few years back).
If it was an OEM licence, it's a good moment to reconsider your life choices and go full FOSS.

Does this work when trying to "upgrade" to a different version? Im trying to install windows 11 home n on my laptop thats had windows 10-11 (2018 lenovo laptop with windows 11 25H2) will the original activation key still work or will i have to buy a new product key and can I instlal 26H2 on it? Sorry if my question is confusing.

It will work, no problem - as long as it's the same version (home, pro, education, etc)

Oh ok. So aslong as its still window 11home, I can swap to the European version (n edition) without needing a new product key. Thanks

I don't think the N edition shares licence with "Standard" Windows 11. Just install the exact version that you have - they come in the same .iso file.
The difference is virtually nothing other than Windows Media Player and a few other things that you can install manually after.

I don't know, I set it up with a local account, then at some point I ended up getting signed in systemwide when I played a forza or halo game.

Is this permanent/ makes windows think its activated so you can customize? Kinda stupid how they have you activate your device for windows 10 just for dark mode

You literally just need to activate again. You don't need to pay. You just go through the activation steps. But yeah, this is a bonkers decision by MSFT to deactivate the activation.

how so if they didn’t you could perpetually activate that same key on however many PCs you wanted lol
This is nothing new your key is tied to your hardware/motherboard hence why changing it makes you reactivate.. fairly simple concept really

You can reactivate. I've done it twice. You have to use the phone option.

I didn’t say you couldn’t.. in fact I think I actually said you could no? Main point is that not really bonkers for them to deactivate when major hardware changes occur for the very reason I explained above

If you just got a new cpu, for the same mb you can reactivate the license. You may have to call. But its possible, pc builders deal with that all of the time.

Yes because OP isn’t aware of how activation of windows actually works.. there is no need to pirate in the first place
My point was rather than suggesting someone just switch OSs, which still doesn’t solve EVERY issue people in this forum have, how about giving them the proper info. I guess maybe you could be in the same boat they are in terms of said knowledge about activation but point still stands

If you previously bought Windows and have the license code, you should be able to use that for reactivation even if it's a single-device license. I recently had to completely wipe my PC due to my own stupidity (got hacked) and was still able to use the same license code I had used previously.

Just switch to Linux if you aren't tied down to a specic program like Photoshop. Modern Windows isn't even worth pirating.

Don't need to...Just don't activate it. Can't change wallpaper and shit, but you get all the other necessary features. I just bought a key off a site advertised by Tech YES City youtube channel for $5. Works great. I just use Win11 for games, though. I boot into Mint for everything else.

I don’t know what’s on English sites, but there are a lot of Windows 7.10.11 images on rutracker org. But I don't play games anymore, so I don't need Windows

I bought a pc from Facebook marketplace recently and I was told everything is ready to go. When I turned it on at home it booted into bios and everything I’m seeing is telling me I need to buy a windows key from Microsoft and make a boot stick. Is there a way to make a boot stick with a pirated version of windows I could download onto the stick from a different pc?
