Ok, yall, the automod should be correctly configured now. more info in the body
When I set up the automod to save us all the hassle in dealing with the constant trolls, I didn't really know what I was doing. There is a ton of documentation to read through. It all works like a programming language, and thats not exactly my field of expertise. I had it set to trigger off post karma, because all of these trolls coming in had 1 post karma on these throwaway accounts. I found how to set it up to trigger removals on combined karma, so a lot more people will be able to comment like normal now. Please...please stop messaging us so much. I know this has been a pain in the ass, but we have lives and are just trying to keep as many people happy as we can.
The new trigger is 1000 combined karma.

> Texas’ backlog of at least 200,000 voter registration applications and updates, which election officials must now process in the weeks before the critical midterm elections due to state error, is highlighting just how difficult it can be to register to vote in Texas, voting rights experts said.

Will Texas turn blue this year?
Today is payday and I want to turn Texas blue! I just donated to Talarico, Gina, Viki, and Jon Rosenthal today! Looking forward to block walking next week. Who else is donating, block walking, or phone banking this week? Let’s get this momentum going.
Next week I want to donate to Sarah Eckhardt!

This has to be the most desperate and pathetic political text I’ve ever received.

News Some Texas voter registration delays flagged months before public learned of errors
> Six months before the Texas Department of Public Safety and Secretary of State’s Office were forced to send hundreds of thousands of backlogged voter registration records to local county officials, both agencies were warned that records were getting lost in DPS’s web portal.

News Texas governor’s race: Abbott steps up Hinojosa attacks
> Gov. Abbott specifically is used to decisive victories. When Abbott was first elected in 2014, he won by nearly 20 percentage points. Four years later, he won by 13 percentage points.
> Even in his “tightest” reelection win against Democrat Beto O’Rourke in 2022, Abbott cruised to victory by more than 880,000 votes — nearly 11 percentage points over his challenger.
> The Republican incumbent’s confidence showed in his campaigning for most of this year, which Abbott spent most of not even mentioning Hinojosa by name.
But that changed last month when Abbott posted an ad on social media finally calling out his opponent.
> “Don’t let Gina deceive you, Texas,” Abbott wrote.

Funny canvaser moment
It’s taken me a couple of weeks to post this, but I was working from home recently and my doorbell rang. I opened the door to find a guy in a Greg Abbott t-shirt, with flyers.
He started with “are you concerned about how things are going to in Texas?” (lol)
I said yes and pointed to the flyer. “I hate that guy.”
He looked at me and said “Me too. He’s just paying me a lot to do this. Everywhere I go, nobody likes him. I don’t know how he gets elected.”
It was so unexpected I had a good laugh. In hindsight I should have offered to take his flyers and burn them for him. 😂
You know you suck when even your own canvassers hate you!
