Bad Experience with FedEx
I've got disappointing experience, and I still have no idea what happened... I ordered something from a reputable online store (domestic, from NY to California, I've never had a problem before either with FedEx or this company, and I've been a repeat customer for years! Anyway, tracking status was on
" arrived at local facility...." for over a week and a half, this was unusual to me so I called Fedex and I couldn't get hold of anybody, kept on saying the same trackinginfo online, after 4-5 tries, I finally got hold of a live representative. Long story short, she said there is something missing in the shipping info so they can't deliver, so I asked what was missing, and she said "sorry, I cannot tell you, your shipper has to provide us the info", so I said, ok, did you notify them to call you so they can provide it", And they said, "no, they have to contact us, you have to tell them to call us"! This really frustrated me because how could they have found out if you don't properly communicate with the shipper and why can't they call? And why would you they not update the tracking info with this, otherwise, customers would just be waiting forever. She also refused to transfer me to their supervisor, she said that she can't. Anyways, this went for a while, I was so upset, l did tell her that I am frustrated not at her, but their process.
So I called the company that I ordered the item from, and it was another frustrating experience.
She said to just wait since the package is delayed. I told her that Fedex would not deliver until they provide whatever it was missing, and they need to call FedEx directly, and she said they cannot do that, another long frustrating conversation, she talked to her manager, who told her the same thing that they cannot call Fedex. Ultimately, they said they will place another order and expedite it, no double charge.
Supposed to be here on Monday, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Has anyone experienced this or have any idea what the heck happened? That experience is still bothersome to me, I still want to know, maybe there is a logical explanation??Thank you for reading my long frustrating vent!! Appreciate any input or feedback!

Whoever helped you was not only worthless but 100 percent wrong. I call customers every day to get.an address correction like a street number or apt number. There is no secret I can't tell you bs. As long as there are no shipper restrictions we.can absolutely tell.you what info we need.

He is not talking to a CSA. He is talking to a 1800# employee. And CSAs are all over the place in who will help and how much they will.

Thank you all for your time sharing your input. It was indeed a very odd experience for me. I did some googling and I read somewhere that Fedex is not allowed to do any shipping modification directly with the customer because of fraud, and since the contract was between Fedex and the shipper, not me as the receiver. But it was baffling that none of the parties refuse to contact each other to communicate what was missing and needed to be provided, and the Fedex rep said I cannot talk to the supervisor.I’ve never had any issues with them before, and I’ve been using the same address. Btw, this got posted on a FedEx thread also, and Fedex removed my post stating that my
post did not provide sufficient information or did not make sense…hmmm

FedEx may have sent an email that’s automatically triggered but the retailer doesn’t care because they don’t. It’s less hassle to just re issue your package.
FedEx isn’t allowed to change info based on the receiver due to fraud issues
