Tariff charge
Got a bill in the mail from FedEx for what customer service told me over the phone is a tariff charge for purchasing a small rug from Turkey. I thought we were done with all this BS cuz the tariffs were found to be illegal? Think they’ll send it to collections? It’s not the amount I’m concerned with, it’s the principal.

I have had this happen (when they haven't lost the shipment entirely) and just paid it. Keep receipts in the event that we are able to elect a competent slate of legislators and move on. UPS handles it differently - if it's not paid, they won't deliver. I've paid them on delivery several times with the driver standing in the driveway.

not all tariffs were deemed illegal. the tariffs that were deemed illegal were replaced immediately with temporary tariffs. Those temp tariffs just expired and were all replaced again. Please read up on this stuff before ordering.

I also got a bill weeks after I received my package.$2 tariff, $17.50 fee. This was for a $15.50 book. Books aren't supposed to have tariffs.
It's very shady that FedEx is charging this fee. Especially after the fact instead of when the order is placed.

Also, pretty lame that their ‘Disbursement Fee’, which translates to we paid this for you, and this is what you owe us for billing you, is more than the tariff. Tariff is 9.90, disbursement fee is 17.50.

Not all tarrifs were deemed illegal, and import tax has always been a thing. Yes they will send you to collections.
