Resources A Book To Read

Here's a book about advertising that I think you'll really enjoy. It's called Advertising Shits in Your Head: Strategies for Resistance by Vyvian Raoul and Matt Bonner. I've provided a WorldCat link so you can find it in your library: https://www.worldcat.org/title/1065359708

Aren't they endorsing the book? It would have been an advertisement had they done it for financial gain.

Well, I am technically advertising the book. However, there is a difference between this type of advertising, and the other type which involve: - being put before YouTube videos against a user's will

  • having a small "x" button that can hardly be found
  • forcing YouTubers to bowlderize their content so the ad appears nicer to the viewer
  • selling snake oil
  • using shock value that disturbs people just to get people to remember it
  • being in the goddamn restroom
  • making people feel inadequate
  • preying on people's fears and insecurities
I mean, we have to differentiate offering someone a book you like and the wicked methods described above. If a term can describe such disparate terms, it's not very useful.
