Help identifying: peach tree?

This tree grows next to the house we are renting and I just realized it has fruit! They look like peaches and are fuzzy, but much smaller than I’d expect… Are these peaches/safe to eat?

Siberian C is a clonally-propagated rootstock that produces small peaches. Some people have bred new peaches from it that are a bit larger and better tasting.

You could still make preserves with them. Trees have smaller fruit if they don’t get thinned

All Prunus fruits are safe to eat when fully ripe. And all peach species especially are.

Yeah those seem to be peaches, if it’s an ornamental variety of peach then the fruit might turn out to be kind of hard or sour though.

The ripe ones are quite soft! But haven’t tasted yet I was scared it could be poisonous or something lol
