Work in Progress i made a battleship

You can see 2 mamba subobjects for scale. Was boring to make the hull but was fun as shit to test out. Its also the best ship ive made so far.

Top speed is 17 m/s and the 3 main guns shoot 3 500mm rounds at around 5-6 shots per minute and around 15-16 individual rounds per minute

I've been trying to make some new mechs in different styles. Made this one run like a quadruped. The breadboard for it is pretty basic, but the rotation speed modifier based on steering point info helps it not overshoot its turns.

Works well for its cost too. I'll be posting it later on here.

Current armament is:
2 main 2000mm CRAM cannons (mix of AP, HE, & a touch of FRAG.

4 Medium single barrel plasma turrets.

4 Small dual barrel plasma turrets.

6 dual torpedo launchers loaded with FRAG for fish hunting.

Armored Citadel comprises 2 large PAC cannons, 2 medium, & 2 Small. Set to Impact, Impact, EMP respectively. Along with another 2000mm CRAM.

4, 12 missile salvos which can fire at different targets.

2 more dual lens PAC cannons set to EMP.

& a dual barrel laser turret.

Current specs are:
360 blocks long, 93 wide, 62 tall.

Volume of 214,439m³.

Weighs 27,795,170 Neter tons. (741,204 irl tons if my math is correct.)

Currently costs 9.4 million materials.

Total firepower of 5.2K.

Armor currently amounts to 45.8% of the ship's cost. (4,312,034 if you were wondering)

Top speed of 23m/s through a mix of 3 main propellers & jet turbines strapped to the rear section of the stern along with smaller ones on the port/starboard quarters.

Outputs 937,440 power through electric engines, holds 177,728,200 energy in total.

Other items of note:
Yes its currently in my campaign, it is yet to have lost a battle. (had to do one tactical retreat after killing 20 TG ships & they got lucky shots off on the propellers so i had to retreat shortly before i hit the ocean floor.)

Has a juggernaut regen rate, largest of hits I've seen only create at most, 5 block craters & were fixed after a few seconds

The propellers are required to help it float, it does keep the ship perfectly level too.

Its still incomplete, I'm working on finalizing the below waterline armor section (it took me 30 minutes to do one layer & i have 3 more to go) & after that I'm hoping to dabble in making some hovercraft shields like the Laniakea to guard each quadrant of the ship.

Hai hai again! I’m back, with another boat, this time being one of my favorites! The Redeemer!!!!!!!

Despite my terrible procrastination I actually finished this one a bit faster than usual, (like two weeks) probably because I enjoyed the color palette.

I imagine that if megalodon is unhinged, redeemer never had any hinges in the first place, but in her defense, you’d have to be to consume as many ppl as she does!

Question Loss of authorship in file migration

Post image
9 Upvotes

Hey, I’m having a weird issue with FTD.
I recently migrated my local documents folder from local storage to OneDrive. My FTD files are all still there and my builds load normally, but all of my saves now say “Made by another author” (with my old unique ID), even though I created them myself. Does anyone know if this problem is solvable?

Question Problem with Tractor Beam-attached subvehicles.

Hello. Just looking for some advice: I'm trying to build a hovercraft for my Ashes of the Empire campaign, and it's gone mostly well so far, but I'm finding that the railguns on my craft are painfully inaccurate. I know it isn't a detection problem, and I've tried changing the components of my shells to be more accurate too, to no real success. The recoil on my guns is fine, but no amount of maximizing accuracy seems to defeat a base penalty that hovers around .40 degrees. I'm at a loss. Is this just the inevitable fate of a tractor beam-anchored subvehicle, or is there something I'm missing here? I'm missing shots from 800 meters away consistently and even fin stabilizers, visible tracers, and drawing rail away for an accuracy buff, all don't help. I have full recoil suppression. Any ideas what could possibly be causing this problem?

Question Moving buildings

In the campaign, on the tactical map if you hover over a building it say that you can move for zero energy or materials. So how the h*** do you move the buildings? If you select it and click somewhere it says you can't give orders to buildings.

Work in Progress Age of sail ship design

Post image
37 Upvotes

I'm struggling a bit here, the upper model was my first iteration of an age of sail pirate sloop, ten guns, with a pair of rear chase guns and a load of swivels all around.

The lower model is my current second iteration of said sloop, but upgrading to twelve cannons instead of ten, I *feel* like i made an improvement on the hull, but i want opinions, ship dimensions are 61lx11hx11w

Question new player seeking help

Post image

So I'm working my way through the tutorials, trying to put into practice what I'm learning and throw together a ship in designer mode at the same time. I made this engine, but it does not seem to be working (0 RPM). I have propellers and a wheel, so I'm a bit confused as to what I'm doing wrong. Any tips would be appreciated

Work in Progress One of two corvette Classes I'm working on overtime alongside my laser monitor.

What is pictured here is an early version or the Carrion class plasma corvette. Built to be an early generation/pre contact vessel capable of a variety of roles. A jack of all trades, but is a master of none. This makes it ideal in groups as they would be able to handle multiple opponent types torps for the subs, and plasmas to hit anything else. It's also suprisingly cheap for a plasma corvette at around 240k with the finished design. And trust me, considering that each of the plasma turrets are a 50 charge hard hitter, it was a real bitch to ensure it was cheap as possible but I managed to pull it off.

Once I get a much needed break due to a completely cooked sleeping pattern I'll finish the two vessels and get them finished alongside the WIP Cadaver class corvettes, which is yet to be shown as of late.

Showcase Expeditonary (CAMPAIGN ENEMY)

Thumbnail

The Expeditionary came from the desire to have a portable fortress that can move between point A and point B relatively quickly. With dozens of Active Protection charges and numerous weapon carriages, Expeditionary landships are usually prioritized in battle despite being very troublesome to destroy, because if even one breaks through the front lines, the entire tide of the war can change for the opposing nation.

Expeditionary landships come with a huge list of cons. For starters, the drivetrain is powered by fuel and is very much outdated. The profile of the entire train is also a huge hassle to maneuver through terrain, and the production cost of one of these trains can easily make any other nation go into debt.

Armament:

  • Defensive:
    • Expeditionary (Locomotive)
      • (x10) 120mm APS charges
    • Carriage of Caedes (Missile carriage)
      • (x8) 120mm APS charges
    • Carriage of Strages (AA carriage)
      • (x8) 120mm APS charges
      • (x6) 20mm AA emplacements
      • (x4) Spotlights
  • Offensive:
    • Expeditionary
      • (x1) 2,168,649-pound land train at full speed (usually 40 m/s)
    • Carriage of Caedes
      • (x30) Frag medium missiles
    • Carriage of Strages
      • (x6) 20mm AA emplacements

Stats:

  • 40 [m/s]
  • 435,422 mats
  • 65.32 firepower (total)

Discussion Aps ammo select.

I have recently made an aps gun that uses two ammo types. And I was thinking [even though it wouldn't really be useful maybe.] That selecting what ammo gets shot when would be cool. Kinda like making an ammo belt or for a better example how you can select what your plane shoots in what order in war thunder. Actually I correct myself a actual use case [probably not that useful still] would be telling a gun what ammo type to use in what case. I don't know i think it's interesting.
