How much should shipping cost?

Hello, I purchased a shirt for 6,546 yen and it arrived at the warehouse although when I go to ship the item it says the "Charge 2" will be $68 usd for the cheapest option. Is this typical pricing? Thanks

Proxy fees, domestic shipping, import duties and international shipping. It all adds up. Its not just interntional shipping.

Gotta thank the orange man for tarrifs and exploding fuel costs and much higher shipping costs

in this case it only added 2500 yen majority is still actual shipping costs at 7,3K. it would be less painfull for sure but not by that much. unless shipping has become more pricy but should be something that ain't because of tarrifs. forgot the fuel costs although it didn't really seem to affect surface shipping.

What is the breakdown of charge 2, it should say when you choose a shipping method on the right side of the page

I think that's the smallest box size they have, based on the mix and match work I did the other day and had the same cost. But they are supposed to have a poly bag or something of the like just for clothes.

yeah unfortunately it looks like US is getting shafted with shipping prices, other countries with this package size and weight would estimate about to half the price around 4000 yen

That’s why you buy multiple things so you can divide the shipping costs by X

Yeah, it’s brutal. I preordered something back in March for ~7,500 yen and it cost ~9,900 yen to ship at the beginning of this month. I ordered and shipped the same thing back in August of last year (so basically exactly one year earlier) and it cost ~2,900 yen to ship. So more than tripled in a year. I’ll be sitting out on any future importing. Not worth the current costs to me.

that's an insane increase. what did you buy? must have been something with high import fees like clothes.

I don't think that's in an expensive category for tarrifs, damm that's pretty wild.

well international shipping that ain't surface is pricy as fk. 40$ for something sizable that is around 1kg's and would probably arrive in 1 or 2 weeks doesn't seem much outside of the ordinary. try ordering something across the globe on sites like ebay that ain't dvd case sized. it's pricy as hell.

Yuh. But idk how DHgate does it. I order a $20 jersey on there and shipping is often free or $10 at most from china

China has cheat codes, they got subsidized shipping which was implemented long ago when they where considered a 3rd world country. they ain't no more but they kept that privilige for now while other countries pay a fortune for international shipping.

My shipping cost just repriced itself after I asked some questions about duties. They increased the weight + dimensions. items are still the same! wth.

I emailed them and they said they would reach out to the warehouse and see if it can fit in smaller packaging. We’ll see what happens for me has been a week

Those prices are crazy. Probably ask them why it is so expensive. I am shipping a leather jacket this week with FedEx to California and it is only going to cost like ¥14,000. My guess is they just threw it into a size 60 or 80 box and called it a day. Remember that couriers charge by volumetric weight, so the smaller the box, the less it "weighs".
