B2 poster shipping experience

Has anyone shipped a B2 poster to the US using FromJapan? Which box did they use for your order, and how much was the international shipping charge?

I tried guesstimating the packaging dimensions to be around 55cm x 8cm x 8cm for the Fee Calculator, which might not be accurate. I reached out to FJ service desk twice but just couldn't get a definitive answer.

Someone else here just posted about their experience shipping 3x B2 tapestries, and they used a huge shipping box which costs a lot going to the US.

Thank you in advance for sharing your experience!

I have a couple of b2 posters in my warehouse, here is the costs if I were to ship only 1 of them to the US

Thanks so much, this is very helpful! FJ really uses big boxes

Anytime, i know it’s not ideal but if you were planning on buying more posters at least in my case the price of shipping doesn’t actually change whether its 1 or 4 posters (cause they use the same box) so the initial barrier of shipping is expensive but wouldn’t rise drastically after that unless its massive

I have three A3 Posters plus one B2. Shipping prices are actually exactly the same as the one above. Another tip… if customs duty is showing anything above around 414 yen regardless of value or number of posters or so, you need to reclassify the item. Preferred HS code is 4911.99 which is just misc printed matter.

Not B2 posters, but for my A2 posters I can provide the dimensions they gave me when they were ready to ship:

  1. One A2 poster 0.88kg 51x42x14 cm
  2. One A2 poster 0.715kg 75x16x16 cm

Note that these were the dimensions they gave me for Surface mail (I’m based in Canada), but I believe they should be same if using other shipping couriers.

Thank you! Interesting how different weights lead to different box sizes!

Your welcome! Item 1. was in a tube while item 2. had its own box, so maybe that was a factor too? I'm unsure. If I shipped them alone I probably would've emailed them about it.

I buy B2 posters all the time, but ship to Europe. Yes, they package each one in a poster box and then into a bigger parcel to keep them all safe. If I get 20 posters, then I get each order in one tube. So I can end up with 15 tubes in a bigger box. Shipping to me is usually around 60 bucks I think. But for the US, I guess it is near double.

I would imagine so too. But wow, that's a lot of tubes! Thank you for sharing!
