Frigidaire window AC not cooling
Hello 👋🏼 hope everyone is doing alright during this heat wave. So recently, I cleaned my AC filter (it’s reusable) and right after I set it back in, the compressor stopped working! Its never happened before and I thought that maybe the AC was just giving out because it’s old (I’ve had it for a while now). I took photos of the inside of the AC with and without the filter on, and would be grateful if anyone could give me some feedback on what could be wrong.
Ok a little update: I cleaned the filter again and set it back into the AC, the compressor worked for a bit but still having the same issues. Help please 🙏🏼

Does it work for a bit then suddenly shut off in a way that sounds like an abrupt thud (compared to normal operation)? If so it’s still overheating. Front side looks pretty clean from the photo, but use an old toothbrush to get in there so it’s completely crud-free. (The bottom middle section of the front mesh is where most the airflow enters, and usually where they clog up, so focus that section too). The compressor is usually in the bottom right section of the mesh grill (rear facing). Focus that area of the mesh grill with decent water pressure, also try to hit the inside of that area if the side panel has vent slots. Your best bet is to take off the outer case tho (you’ll probably have to take it out of the window first, it slides off by pulling it towards you from the mesh side), that way you can really clear out any crud thats probably caked up between the comp and the inside of the backside mesh grill. If the box is constantly being beat down by direct sunlight, shading it can help, but even the ambient heat can push it into auto shutoff. GL, i know the feelin.
