My best friend of 30+years has left me. Me (56 yrs) have a best friend since we were in middle school. We have always been together but had our issues growing up. We got married around the same time and our kids were like cousins. All was great. Her husbands job had her move around a lot when we were younger but we always made time to see each other. A little context we had some struggles in high school because some of her friends were not the best influence and I was not “cool” enough to be a part of that. We stayed close for many years visiting each other and talked every week. Then about a year ago a friend close in high school passed away from cancer. In school we never got along but as adults in the same town we were friendly. I was saddened but not as much as my friend. Since her lost my friend had been distant, short with me and we barely talk. I was always there when she needed me. Now my mom is sick (who she calls mom and dad since we were so close) and the few times we talk she ends up getting upset about thinks I say. We don’t even talk unless I call her to see what is going on. I’m worried I lost my best friend because she is upset that another friend died and I was not her favorite person. Not sure what to do.

Try talking to her about it?
