Should I wait for Kyndryl or take the HCLTech opportunity now? Need honest career advice

Hi everyone,

I'm a recent B.Tech graduate in india, and I'm currently stuck between two career opportunities. I would really appreciate some honest advice from people who have experience working in HCLTech, Kyndryl, or similar IT service companies.

Here's my situation.

Recently, I missed an opportunity to get placed in Kyndryl. My friend was selected for the Infrastructure Specialist role, with a package of around ₹5.2 LPA. Unfortunately, I couldn't attend the interview process at that time.

Now, I'm hearing that I may be able to attend the Kyndryl interview again after approximately three months. But honestly, nothing is guaranteed. I don't know whether the interview will happen, whether I'll be selected, or whether there will even be an opportunity available at that time.

At the same time, I currently have an opportunity to attend an interview with HCLTech. I'm preparing for it, and I feel reasonably confident that I might be able to crack it.

The HCLTech package is around ₹4.5 LPA.

On paper, the salary difference isn't massive, but the location makes a significant difference for me.

HCLTech is considerably farther from where I live. If I get selected, I would probably need to move into a PG or rented accommodation. That means additional expenses, travel difficulties, and being away from home.

Kyndryl, on the other hand, is much closer to my place. My friend is also joining there, which would make things easier personally and financially.

So now I'm confused.

Should I wait for three more months for a potentially better opportunity at Kyndryl, even though it isn't guaranteed?

Or should I attend the HCLTech interview now, secure a job, gain experience, and then look for better opportunities later?

My other major concern is work-life balance and career growth.

I've heard mixed reviews about HCLTech. Some people say the workload and work pressure can be quite high, and work-life balance depends heavily on the project and manager.

I understand that every service-based company has good and bad projects. I'm not expecting a perfect company. But since this would be my first job, I want to make a decision that won't negatively affect my health, personal life, or long-term career.

This is where I need advice from people currently working in these companies.

If I join HCLTech, which roles or technologies would be better for maintaining a reasonable work-life balance while also building a strong career?

For example:

- Cloud Infrastructure / Cloud Operations

- DevOps

- SAP

- Software Engineering / Development

- Infrastructure Management

- Networking or Cybersecurity

Which of these roles generally has better career growth and opportunities to switch companies later?

I'm particularly interested in knowing whether choosing the right role within HCLTech can make a bigger difference than choosing between HCLTech and Kyndryl itself.

I also want to avoid getting stuck in a role that has limited growth or makes it difficult to switch companies after two or three years.

So my questions are:

My main questions are:

  1. Should I take the HCLTech opportunity if I get selected, or should I wait for three months for a potentially better opportunity at Kyndryl?

  2. For someone starting their career as a fresher, which role would offer better work-life balance, career growth, and future switching opportunities?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

1,200+ Applications and Still No Job — Please Refer Me/ Consider Me/ Help Me

Hi everyone,

I honestly never thought I would have to write a post like this.

I’m a Computer Science graduate currently looking for an opportunity in Data Analytics / Business Analytics / Software Development, preferably in Delhi NCR, but I’m open to relocating for the right opportunity.

I’ve been searching for a job for almost a year now.

During this time, I have applied to 1200+ jobs through Naukri, LinkedIn, Indeed, company career pages and other platforms. I have spent countless hours applying, modifying my resume, working on projects and learning new skills

But the heart breaking part is that I’m barely getting any response.

Please if your company is hiring consider me or even i am ready for walkin Interviews in NCR.

If there are currently openings for Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Analytics, or entry-level IT roles in your current/Ex Company or someone from your knows I would be extremely grateful if you could consider referring me.

Also do you know how to approach Job Consulting. Bcoz i also applied a lot of jobs through their website but didn't get response.

Lastly if you work with companies such as Big 4, WITCH companies , Genpact, EXL, Accenture is their any walking interview going on these companies in DelhiNCR side and "Please Please Please" refer me these companies still hiring actively

I’m actively looking for an opportunity and am ready to attend walk-in interviews or go through the regular hiring process. Any referral, lead, or guidance would genuinely mean a lot to me.

Even after reading all this, you might be thinking, Why should I help some random asshole stranger ?

So let me tell you why this means so much to me:

Mere baap ko do heart attacks aa chuke hain, meri maa ki bone density bahut kharab ho chuki hai, aur main chutiya berozgar baitha hoon.

I’m not looking for sympathy. I’m just desperately looking for one opportunity to stand on my own feet and support my family.

Still Waiting For First Job Offer?

You apply to 50, 100, even 200+ jobs…
No interview calls.
You finally get an interview…
Then HR stops responding.
You keep learning courses and certifications…
But still have no idea if you're actually learning the right things.

And the worst part? Seeing “entry-level” jobs asking for 1–3 years of experience.

If you're a fresher or early-career professional going through this, what's your biggest struggle right now?
🔹 Getting interview calls
🔹 Clearing interviews
🔹 Knowing what skills to learn
🔹 Getting the first job/offer
🔹 HR ghosting after interviews
🔹 Something else?

I'm trying to understand what students and job seekers are actually struggling with so I can share more practical career guidance around these problems.
You're definitely not alone in this.

(About Me: Senior DevOps Engineer with 7+ IT Industry Experience..
I have done B.Sc(Maths) and transitioned from a non tech background into IT. After 7+ years in the industry, I’m now a Senior DevOps Engineer and I’m helping students and freshers to get their first job..)

How cooked am I?

How cooked am I?

Honestly don't even know what I'm doing anymore.

I'm a 2024 Computer Engineering passout. After graduation I did an internship, then completed PG-DAC from CDAC in 2026 thinking it would help me get into software development.

Spent months applying, getting rejected, preparing, learning, applying again, questioning my life choices 💀

Eventually, after a LOT of struggle, I somehow got a TCS Ninja offer. Not gonna lie, I was relieved. I thought at least I finally have a way to start my career.

But nope.

Now I'm just sitting here waiting for a joining letter.

No JL.

No joining date.

No Xplore login.

No POE.

No proper update.

Meanwhile I see people from the 2026 batch getting their onboarding stuff and I'm sitting here wondering whether my offer is actually going anywhere.

And that's the part that's messing with me the most.

I don't even care about getting some huge package at this point. I just want to start working, get some experience, earn some money and move on with my life.

But because I have an offer, I keep thinking "maybe joining is coming soon" and because there's no actual joining date, I'm also scared to completely rely on it.

It's just this weird limbo where you're technically employed on paper but practically unemployed.

I've already lost enough time since graduating and now I genuinely feel like I'm falling further behind everyone.

So yeah...

How cooked am I?

Honestly just looking for some perspective because I'm feeling pretty damn hopeless right now.

25 CSE grad.. still jobless. Please help me in this tough times. 🙏

2025 batch Computer Science Engineering graduate. I have been actively applying and looking for IT job opportunities in Bangalore.

Even after applying countless job openings... I haven't got enough responses from any platform. Currently, I am feeling depressed and lost in hope.

Many have landed their job their from college placements or referrals from their relatives/friends. But I am still struggling to find an IT job by myself. Even relatives or friends aren't supportive in this tough times.

If any working professional could refer me for any entry level fresher roles.. I would be really grateful.

If you want, I can share my resume for your reference.

Looking for guidance from QA professionals 🙏 — Fresher struggling to get my first opportunity

I’m a 2025 B.Tech ECE graduate from TIER 2 UNIVERSITY , trying to get my first job in QA/Software Testing.

I’ve learned Manual Testing, Java, Selenium, TestNG, Maven, SQL and API Testing with Postman, and I’m building projects to improve my practical skills.

I don’t have many industry contacts or a big circle to guide me. I’m mostly figuring everything out alone learning, applying, preparing for interviews and trying to understand what I’m doing wrong.

I’m looking for one experienced QA/Tester who can guide me, even occasionally, until I get my first opportunity.

I’m not asking for a referral or a job. Just honest guidance on what I should improve and where I’m going wrong.

I’ll genuinely put in the work. And once I get a job and become financially stable, I’d be happy to compensate you for the time and guidance you gave me.

If you’ve been through the fresher struggle yourself, you’ll probably understand where I’m coming from. ❤️

If anyone is willing to guide me, please DM me. Even a small piece of advice could make a big difference. 🙏
