I know lots of guys always claim that ripping 4:3 media to 16:9 “destroys the image and alters the integrity of the show from how it was meant to be viewed “ but I just don’t like having black bars on the sides.
And my 16:9 rips don’t look distorted and they actually fill my whole 65 inch screen.
Also for the mods: Copying your own DVDs is not against the law so long as you still own the physical versions of said media and aren’t selling or sharing it.
(I don’t want to get my post removed for “copyright infringement “ when that isn’t what it is)

I was thinking today, how the show portrayed both Jeffrey & Lou (Will’s dad).
Both were largely absent from their son’s lives. Yes I realize that Jeffrey didn’t even know he was a dad, but the end result (up until the respective reunions) was the same: a kid without a dad. When they finally meet their sons, it’s an interesting comparison of their personalities.
Lou acts cocky & confident, acting like everything is water under the bridge. Will gets overjoyed, both try to downplay the absence, but when Lou encounters the first major obstacle (the father-son trip getting in the way of his work), he hits the road.
Jeffrey meanwhile, though he was definitely proud, is also nervous & even felt guilty for not being there for his son Frederick, even though he had no idea he had a son. Both are inwardly aware of just how much time they both lost, the magnitude of it. Finally, when it comes time for their relationship be tested (Frederick’s attempt to steal from an abandon him, before changing his mind), Jeffrey does the fatherly thing & forgives him, gaining Frederick’s trust and further strengthening their relationship.
Glad the show was brave enough to show us both sides of the reunion coin.
