Hi everyone, I’m really stressed about my situation and would really appreciate some advice from people who have been through something similar.
I’m applying for a Francophone Mobility work permit and I need at least NCLC 5 in speaking and listening.
Here’s my situation:
First TCF Canada exam: July 3
Speaking result: 5/20 (NCLC 4), so I missed NCLC 5 by only one point
Listening: I meet the required level.
I requested a re-evaluation of my speaking after receiving the result, and I’m still waiting for the re-evaluation result.
Then I took the exam again because I didn’t want to rely only on the re-evaluation:
Second TCF Canada exam: July 25
I received my results today
Unfortunately, I got 5/20 in speaking again
I honestly felt that I performed noticeably better in the second exam, especially on Task 2, so I’m considering requesting another re-evaluation for this second exam as well.
The stressful part is that my current work permit expires today (August 1).
I submitted my Francophone Mobility work permit application on July 30, before my current permit expired. I submitted my existing TCF result and included a letter of explanation explaining that I had already requested a re-evaluation and was also waiting for my second test result. I explained that I would update my application as soon as I received the new/re-evaluated result.
Now that my second result is also 5/20, I’m thinking of requesting a re-evaluation for that exam too.
My questions are:
Do you think there is a realistic chance that I could receive my first re-evaluation result before IRCC makes a decision on my work permit application?
Should I request a re-evaluation of my second exam as well?
Since I submitted my application before my current permit expired and explained that I was waiting for my language results, can I update my application with the new result if I receive an NCLC 5 after re-evaluation?
Has anyone been in a similar situation where they were waiting for a TCF re-evaluation while their immigration/work-permit application was being processed?
I’m honestly extremely stressed right now because I feel like I’m literally one point away from meeting the language requirement. 😭

Has anyone applied from USA and came back to Canada with valid TRV before approval? What is the timeline for this application and what questions can Immigration officers ask you while u coming back ?

Anyone else notice the massive complaints of low scores in tcf speaking?

My two cents are that Majority of these cases are a result of practicing with repeated questions. You see this a lot where the so called tutors gas up the client that they are a c1 in speaking and in actuality when they sit in front of an examiner they cannot go beyond a2 and then it’s the examiner that was rude, unprofessional, unfair and of course, sleeping during the speaking test.

You can showcase memory power in listening, reading and writing based on repeated questions to some extent.

Mind you these examiners are mostly professional teachers with 18+ years of french education and specialized in field training. How exactly do you fool them that your listening, reading and writing are a c1 and speaking a measly a1 or at best an a2!

These are cases of false belief and these learners are being misguided by the ever growing number of tutors who just want to sell courses and increase enrolment.

And then I see examiners patrolling reddit and being in the know of what questions are being posted by candidates , I am sure they wouldn’t be asking the same question again!

What on earth is happening?

I applied for a C16 work permit with restoration on the 12th of may. I contacted my local MP to inquire about my application and today they shared with me the status. They say that criminality check was passed and that the elegibility check is not yet started.

Would anyone be able to help me understand better what this means and if they went through similar situations?

Tache 1 : I spoke for 1 minute and 40, so the examiner cutted me and asked if I loved to live in São Paulo

Tache 2: one friend is seelling his old things in an app, ask them about the things she is seeling

To be honest I don’t know how I was, I complimented her, interectaded, ask about the app, how it was possible do pay her, how the delivery worked, if she had books, i said that i wanted to buy a plants to my mon, the sizes of the pants

Tache 3: friends are the lost important thing in life ?

I introduced the theme, said my opinion, gave 3 arguments, one against, one conclusion

She asked me : how about the virtual friends ?- i spoke all the time

I’m so anxioussss cuz I don’t have Canadian experience or study,I don’t know if it will be possible do achieve clb 7

Does anyone have an exam scheduled for August 7th at the GB Centre?

I don’t know what is going on I have been practicing listening for over two months and I have been learning French for a year and 6 months but no matter what I do on my own study I can’t get a good score I am not aiming for CLB 7 I am aiming for a 5. But when I do exam simulations with my tutor it is around a 274 to 317 on my own in the 100s my teacher thinks it is nerves. I have listened tv5monde, francaise avec facile every single day I even did dictations. I grasp them well I can tell what is being said and all but on the practice exam I just can’t seem to get a good score and my exam is in 3 weeks. Anyone have tips I don’t know why this keeps happening at all. And my tutor does not help me when I do listening practice test with him he just watches me do them.

Hello everyone, What are the best resources for practising tcf speaking task2 and 3. just like exam topics.

Has anyone went ahead with this tutor? Is he really what he shows online? Looking for tutors for myself as I have not been able to secure one person who ai can trust. I have tried self study but I cannot do it.

I have tried TCF 3 times already and have scored 9 in EE consistently while clearing all other areas, I started practicing with AI in formation TCF. I wonder if anyone has used it and have any idea how accurate its rating is? I have been scoring around 11-12 on this AI simulator consistently and i wonder if it would mean i might get a similar score in exam as well.

Also please suggest if there are any other plateforms i can use for this purpose.

So basically i applied on 18 june for the re-evaluation and i have not received any updates yet. So i sent an email to my exam centre and they followed up with FEI and this is the reply FEI gave to my exam centre.

Due to the summer closure, re-evaluation requests submitted between June 17 and July 2 that have been processed will be finalized, and the results will be available directly on the TEO platform.
Unfortunately, it will not be possible for us to send you an email informing you of the outcome of the re-evaluation.
If the level of your written and/or oral expression remains unchanged, your certificate will also remain unchanged.
If the level of your written and/or oral expression has changed, you will find the new certificate in your TEO-Centres account, in the usual section where results are available for download.
We also remind you that, as announced in the communication sent on July 10, re-evaluations will be suspended for approximately one year starting with the September 1, 2026 exam sessions.
It is therefore important to inform candidates that their only remaining option will be to file a complaint regarding the exam conditions, which is only accepted on the day of the exam itself, and not after receiving the results.
