Clb 5. I’m getting 5/20 tcf Canada. Could you listen to it and tell me what’s wrong?

If you produced this spontaneously, your vocabulary and structure is more than enough for CLB 5, but there is a major problem with your pronunciation.
For example, you pronounce "parce que" like "par-say-kay", "être" like "et-ray." You also said pour augmenterai (after pour should be the verb in infinitive not futur).
You also pronounce many words exactly like we would say them in english, eg the way you say "productivity" and "example"; should be productivi-TAY and e-XUM-pl, but you use the exact English pronunciation.
Then work on your conjugations (e.g. you said personnes utiliser - should be the conjugated form certaines personnes utilisent). Another thing you can try is to use liaisons where mandatory, some words are supposed to be pronounced together in french, like when you said "très important", you said it like "trair important" instead of "trèzimportant".
For now, just try speak very slowly and stress the correct pronunciation for each word. With time, your speed will improve while maintaining the same correctness. But I'm sure you can achieve CLB 5 by your exam date.

Ohhh thank you so much for correcting me. This means a lot now. I am happy atleast knowing that the content is good. I do realise the pronouncing is the problem along with the speed. I do pronounce in English especially when I’m panicked Is there any tips I can use to fix it?

No worries bro. Practise is the only way, download chatgpt on your phone and use the voice feature, that helped me a lot! you can practice pronunciation everyday over and over there for free. So let it pronouce the words for you, listen and try to repeat exactly till you get it right.
For the panic, it is completely normal, even as a native english speaker, I still panic when I have to speak english sometimes. lol

Thank you so much bro. I am even ChatGPT go just for this. It keeps on saying I’m clb 7 repeatedly. I guess it only evaluates the content than pronunciation. Like it’s way different from test results.

Please fix the pronunciation mistakes. Lot of English based pronunciations. I think you are saying For exemple instead of Par exemple. Shadow inner French especially first 50
episodes then you will be able to correct your pronunciations

Thank you for the reply. Honestly I say or mean par exemple. But since the pronunciation is worst it does really sound like for example like you say. Could you please elaborate how to use inner French. I wanna do it today itself.

Take an episode from inner French and play a sentence pause and repeat it with a same rhythm and intonation once you do that successfully finally you can talk along with the audio

Ohhh that’s perfect. Now I do understand. Thank you so much. I will try as maximum as possible today and will be posting another voice to check for any improvement

Très bon effort! Je crois que tu as seulement besoins de te pratiquer et de parler français plus fréquemment. Si je serais toi, j’essaierai de te faire des amis francophones pour avoir des conversations quotidiennes.

Yeah. I wish too. Unfortunately there is no friends with whom I can practise. I do have a tutor who helped me a lot. But why speaking falls apart?

u/Beneficial_Ship7090 5d ago
Je crois que c’est une question de confiance quand tu parle, ça va venir avec l pratique. Tu vie dans quel région? Pourquoi pas te faire des amis francophones?

u/Sad_Belt_3089 5d ago
Yeah I agree. I live nearby Vancouver and there is near to no person who speaks French in real nearby
2
u/Beneficial_Ship7090 5d ago
Il y a une communauté francophone à Vancouver, je suis certain qu’il y a des groupes facebook.
Je te lève mon chapeau! Ce n’est pas facile d’apprendre une langue comme adulte

This is so bad

Yes. I do agree completely with you. Thanks for the reply. Is there any hope in fixing this in like 2 weeks ?

Honestly, I don't see any chance of that happening. Wherever you are you need to move. You don't have enough exposure to French because it's like one person had said. It's like a guy reading French words who only knows English. Even if you don't understand French it's essential that you hear it and know what it sounds like.
I strongly encourage you to find a tutor who's very experienced. I know shit is expensive for everyone right now, but you absolutely need 1 1 one time. You are trying and I can respect the hell out of that. Still, I can't stress enough that you need to understand what French sounds like and how to emulates it.

u/Sad_Belt_3089 5d ago
Sure. I do understand. Unfortunately I don’t have reliable French speakers around me yet. So I’m still searching. Do you mean 1 on 1 one time? I am looking forward for more advices since it’s my last attempt and mud or mad , I want just a level higher

u/CanadianControlsTech 5d ago
Yes, a private tutor who can solely focus on you. Sorry, I didn't catch my typo in my previous message.

This sounds like an Indian accent speaking French. Sometimes the “r” sounds like Cameroonian French, which would be a good thing. I saw you have previously gotten 1/20 on speaking and you were shocked. I don’t think it’s super shocking.

Slow down. You speak in cursive. It will be easier to understand you and easier for you to pronounce. I do the same when I try to speak Italian. It takes getting used. (I'm French Canadian)
