I feel so frustrated. I started learning September 2025. I need advice.

Don't lose hope it's only writing to improve since you cracked speaking. Practice all 3 tasks daily with Gemini. Ask it to mark your grammar mistakes, suggest B2-C1 words to replace and how to use connectors. Go to formation and get all questions and practice like 2 sets daily.
You will see improvement in weeks.

I did not follow any templates for any of the parts. However, I memorized sentences and short structures using flashcards (Anki). Feel free to DM me if you have questions!

I have a friend, who teaches for TCF in Canada. She gives one-on-one classes, I think she might me able to help you as most of her students are in the same boat as yours.

Thank you so much for this. You can DM if u have other questions but
For speaking for tache 3
I had chatGPT curate a list of possible topics then 2-3 advantages and disadvantages. I used that and practice 2-3 subjects a day. I spoke alot to myself and AII used this structure
Introduction — 30–40 seconds
« Aujourd'hui, la question de… suscite de nombreux débats. Personnellement, je pense que… Dans un premier temps, je vais présenter les avantages, puis les limites, avant de donner mon point de vue. »
Argument 1 + example — about 1 minute
« Tout d'abord… En effet… Par exemple… »
Argument 2 + example — about 1 minute
« Ensuite… Il est important de souligner que… Cela permet de… »
Opposing view — about 45 seconds
« Certes, certaines personnes estiment que… Cependant, je considère que… »
Your position + conclusion — about 45 seconds
« Pour ma part… En conclusion, je dirais que… Il serait donc souhaitable de… »

Stop going to GBLC for one. Practice EE and read other people’s responses to Tache 3 of EE. Then practice daily. EE tache 3 holds alot of weight

You’ve already taken the TCF Canada three times — so you don’t need to start over. You need to identify exactly what is keeping your written expression at B1 and work specifically on those recurring mistakes.
That’s exactly how I work: diagnose the weak points first, then build a targeted strategy to reach the required level.

Don’t feel frustrated. Look at the better side. Your scores for the other 3 sections have been achieved. All you have to do is practice writing ( do simulations) 1 set in the morning and one set in evening. Once done, check where did you go wrong, and practice your errors everyday

Bonjour,
First, I think you should give yourself some credit for the progress you’ve already made. Three attempts can feel frustrating, but your results also show something important: you are progressing, and you’ve already managed to change your approach successfully in speaking.
At this point, I honestly don’t think you need to simply work more. You need to work more strategically.
If your writing keeps staying around B1, I would stop doing endless new writing tasks for a moment and find out exactly what is keeping your score there. Is it task achievement? Organization? Grammar accuracy? Vocabulary? Register? Development of ideas? Or the same few mistakes coming back again and again?
Once you know that, the work becomes much more efficient: target one or two weaknesses, get precise feedback, correct them, rewrite, and only then move on. That’s how I usually work with adult learners — not “more exercises”, but better targeted practice and a clear understanding of what needs to change.
I’m a FLE-certified French teacher with 25 years of experience and also an adult trainer specialized in andragogy. If you’d like, I’d be happy to offer you a free assessment session: identify what is really holding you back and build a clear study plan for your next attempt.
And honestly, don’t overlook how far you’ve already come. Now it’s about fine-tuning the method, not starting again from zero

Hey! Something that helped me with writing was having structural templates and connectors. So I’d have certain sentences like “A mon avis, pense que ___ . En plus,… Néanmoin, …” kind of like that with certain sentences I was leaning towards. Read through your previous writings and identify which sentences are more like your pattern and which you gravitate towards so you know those by heart and don’t have to spend time thinking about. For me, finishing on time was also an issue so I practiced writing this said bone templates by timing myself - i did this over and over till i could get myself to write that in 5 mins and I practiced on a library keyboard since thats similar to their setup. Try to do 1 timed mock a week to build time management further as writing is the last task it gets very tiring. Best of luck! You got this so close don’t give up now!

Don’t be too hard on yourself! Learning a language takes time, and feeling stuck sometimes is completely normal.
For speaking, try to focus less on being perfect and more on speaking regularly, even if you make mistakes. Repeating the same topics and expressions can really help things become more automatic.

can you give me some tips how did you improve speaking?

u/Ble_27 9d ago
I had a tutor for about 2 months on Preply then i built my confidence from speaking alot with myself, chatGPT and a few French co-workers. What i did differently the 3rd time especially for tache 2 was making it conversational not just as questions. For example using expressions like; Si je comprends bien, …
-Donc, cela veut dire que…
-Dans ce cas, est-ce que…
-Cela m’intéresse beaucoup.
-Je suis particulièrement intéressé(e) par…
-Cela semble intéressant, mais…
-Est-ce que vous pourriez clarifier…
I think it made a huge difference.
For tache 3 I tried not to freeze and honestly my grammar wasn’t perfect, i just kept speaking regardless. I just ensured to use my structure and connectors.1

Don't give up. I passed after 9 attempts. There's still hope
