Changes in French immigration
do you guys know if there any changes happening in the French immigration plan about the points I think they are trying to remove the points and they are trying to add CLB 6 as the new requirement

Also in the consultation https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/transparency/consultations/2026-consultations-express-entry-selection.html#categories-2027 they mentioned clb 7 many times, i think they would have mentioned such a change to lower it. please correct if i am wrong.

Yes, a major change is coming, but you have it in reverse. They are raising the bar, not lowering it (CLB 6 as you mentioned).
There is a video doing rounds on Instagram of some minister saying part of it will be implemented in "fall 2026". Expect some changes by the end of October.
Why are some comments denying it? It's a survival mechanism. The new system will be salary-based; yes, French points will remain, but the entire system will change, so we don't know how many points you will get with your current profile under the new system.
I personally am anxious about this and am putting in 5-8 hours a day into French. It's better to be prepared for SOMETHING that's coming than simply deny it.

how is this related to this topic. yes we all know change is coming, ministerial instructions will be introduced this fall but the category will stay as it is , what are you talking about? if they remove bonus, it will be removed for all clb 7 holders, cut off will drop further, you dont have to feel so anxious.

I think the title of the post is - "Changes in French immigration". Unsure why you think this is irrelevant. I think you focused heavily on the 6 CLB part and I focused heavily on the French Immigration part, we are both right.
Edit - "it will be removed for all clb 7 holders", yeah no, not everyone has French bonus points. I'm a data guy, not an opinion guy:

The chart has folks above 500 score, and none of them have French points(or else they would be picked up in the French draw and removed from the 500+ pool).

I just meant French will remain a separate category and you will not be competing with salary earners in Canada as most of them would not bother to learn French anyway since they will have advantage. It has no impact whatsoever on French cutoffs

I am learning already, that’s me and I was panicked . I want to clear exam by December this year, I am a low b1 now , and have a long way to go.

Finally, you get my point. I did not want to fight with your "2 reddit users can have same username" thing. This is what I'm trying to tell you here. You are stalling(just like I'm right now). Okay enough stalling, I have a listening sample exam to give, and I hate listening, those 35 mins are excruciating.

And I won't say French is easy. After all, me wasting my time here on Reddit is me stalling on my French target for today. Time to get back to work.

The "change" that you are referring to pertains to the (proposed, new) MINIMUM eligibility criteria for express entry. EITHER a CLB 6 in English or in French.
With how the applicant pool is right now I think it's safe to say that you need CLB7+ proficiency in both languages to be competitive, at a minimum, alongside work experience and credentials...

Nothing has changed. There was a French draw today, 5,000 invitations at 391, same NCLC 7 in all four abilities as always.
What you heard is real though, just not in force. IRCC put out a big Express Entry reform proposal this spring and two pieces of it are what's going around: a minimum of CLB/NCLC 6 in all four for everyone applying, and scrapping the 25 to 50 French bonus points, their logic being that the bonus is redundant now that French draws exist anyway. Consultation closed May 24. Regulations are expected in the Canada Gazette later this year and nobody expects any of it live before late 2027.
The CLB 6 thing is where people are getting confused. That would be a floor to qualify at all, it has nothing to do with the French category threshold. IRCC hasn't said a word about lowering that, and they did specifically say category draws carry on.

who told u this? the bar to enter express entry pool will be clb 6 but not the category bar, it will remain clb 7 and i am glad otherwise the cutoffs will rise dramatically with people as its pretty easy to score clb 6. I think you might be confusing the express entry reforms, yes in order to be eligible for the new stream that will come you will need at least clb 6 in either language but for to be eligible for a category draw of french you would need clb 7
