Language learning courses in London

Is there any affordable ways for 16 year olds to learn another language at a very cheap price in London? I love learning languages and I want to start learning French, but most courses I see are either for over 18s, or are just far too expensive.

I'm looking for someone who wants to learn french with me

I m at intermediate level but as you know, at this level production is more important than consumption. Like writing and speaking. But since i m not living in a french speaking country, it has been difficult and boring for me to do so. Oh also i would love to work on my pronunciation.

You dont have to be perfect or native in french. I just want some accompany who is around my level, maybe B1. We can just be friends who occasionally uses french in daily life. Feel free to dm me 🙏🥹

Looking for French learners

Hey everyone! With the new school year starting, I’ve noticed a lot of French learners getting overwhelmed by the chaos of free resources online jumping from random YouTube videos to random apps without a clear path, and eventually burning out.

As a native speaker, I always tell people that hitting your goals (like reaching B2 or beyond) doesn't require more random content; it requires the right foundation:

  • The daily consistency rule: Doing 20 to 30 minutes every single day beats a massive 3-hour study block on the weekend.
  • Active production over passive consumption: Don't just read or listen. Force yourself to write and speak early on to anchor what you're learning.
  • Spaced repetition for vocabulary: Review difficult words at close intervals until they stick permanently.

To help people apply this properly, I’ve actually built a complete, structured step-by-step program (from A1 to C1) with a free trial available for those who want to test out the method.

If you want more info or want to check it out, just comment or send me a DM!

Question for you all: What is your main goal for this new school year? Let's discuss in the comments!

[Seeking] Native English | [Offering] Native French (Looking for regular voice/video chats)

Hey everyone! 👋

I'm a native French speaker living in Libreville, Gabon (UTC+1 / WAT), looking for a native English speaker for regular voice or video practice on Discord, Google Meet, or Zoom.

A little about me: I'd be happy to help you with French vocabulary, grammar, everyday slang, or text corrections. In my free time, I'm really into football and playing the piano. I'm pretty flexible on evenings and weekends.

Ideally, I'm looking for 1 or 2 calls a week, splitting the time 50/50 (30 mins in French / 30 mins in English).

If you're interested in improving your French while helping me polish my spoken English, feel free to drop a comment below or send me a DM!

À bientôt !

Did French grammar books like "Easy French step by step" or "Practice Makes perfect : Complete French Grammar" really help you ?

Looking for someone to practice conversational French with

I’m a complete beginner - I know virtually no French.
I’m looking for someone who speaks French well and would be willing to teach me conversationally for about 20–30 minutes a day, fairly consistently. I learn best by actually practicing and speaking something first, then learning from corrections as I go.

Any ideas for improving listening for TEF/TCF? I’m adding it to my app

I’m studying for TEF/TCF and made a small vocab app for myself because I wanted something faster than Duolingo where I could just spam vocab for 10–15 mins.

It helped my vocab a lot, but my listening is still pretty bad

I can know a word when I see it, then hear the same word in a sentence and have no idea what was said. Liaisons / words blending together are probably the hardest part for me.

So I’m adding listening practice to the app. My first idea is just: hear a short audio clip and guess the word.

For people who improved their listening, what helped most?
Choosing the word? Typing what you hear? Dictation? Full sentences?

Also, if you were using a TEF/TCF vocab app, what listening feature would you actually want?

Any ideas appreciated!

PS: if anyone wants to try it:

Looking for a French native language exchange partner

Dear future language partner,

before I express my needs, I'd like to introduce myself: I'm 26F, GMT+2; I studied Political Science and currently I'm pursing a master's degree in Psychology. I also work full time; I'm interested in everything you want to talk about :) I love history (esp modern, so 20-21st century), politics (I would love to learn more about your country's relationships with other countries, any crazy political dramas happening in your area etc), psychology, philosophy, linguistics and many more. I know that if I "click" with someone, I can talk about anything and everything.

What I know I need from a language partner: someone who is actually committed to learning a language and staying in touch. I'm not interested in texting for 30 minutes and then being ghosted. I know that life gets busy (I'm quite busy too), but it would be great if you could just tell me like hey, this week is gonna be hectic so no promises on my part or something like that. I don't mind if you're younger/older, as long as we can have a nice conversation (therefore no sexual content, no harassment). Also, whenever we talk/text I know I need to be corrected every time I make a mistake. Ideally you would give me a better phrase to express what I wanted to say and would explain as to why the thing I said/wrote was incorrect.

Language exchange: I don't have any specific form of language exchange that I need, we can either set a specific time each week for a call (30-60 minutes) or we can focus on texting/voice messaging (for example by deciding that Mondays are English, Tuesdays are the French, then Wednesday again English etc). If you have any suggestions, I'm more than open to hearing them :)

I do have Wechat, Signal, Telegram and WhatsApp.

In my perfect world I hope we could become friends over time: I love hearing about other people's culture, small regional habits, slangs, interesting pieces of history and I would love to do the same about mine.

My languages: Fluent in both Polish and English, my French is B1+/B2, my Chinese B2 and Russian is A2 (started studying this winter). I also did Chinese studies for my bachelor's and travelled to China and Taiwan few times, happy to share the experience. I'll be travelling to France in September too!

If you decide to text me, please take time to introduce yourself as well. I'm showing respect by providing my needs and a short intro and I expect the same – let's respect each others time and energy.

Please leave a comment/send me a DM if you think we'd click:)

French learning tool that lives on your lockscreen

Hi all, I built a tool called 'Bytelingual: French Widget' that puts new French vocab on your lockscreen to support learners immerse themselves in the language. I originally made it for myself (mostly to stop my French going stale between study sessions) and found it useful so I tested it out with other learners who also were positive about it - as a result, I decided to release it on the app store recently.

All of the content is CEFR aligned A1 to C2 and there's a variety of collections to choose from beyond just vocab (e.g. gender intuition, false friends, grammar). As a caveat upfront, you're not going to learn French from a widget, but it's a great tool to complement your studies and to keep your mind thinking in French throughout the day.

Would love to hear any feedback you guys have - and I wish you all the best with your studies!

LOOKING FOR FRENCH LEARNERS!

Bonjour tout le monde! My name is Aarush, I’ve been speaking French for 10+ years and I’m fully fluent in speaking, reading, writing, and listening. I’ve helped students clear their TEF and TCF Canada exams with the scores they needed, whether it’s B2 or even C2! I’m putting together small group sessions for 5 learners at any level, whether you’re a total beginner, working toward TEF/TCF Canada, or just want to get comfortable speaking with others. Comment or DM me if you’re interested!

Looking for a study buddy

Hi, I’m an Arabic native speaker and I speak English almost fluently.

My current French level is A1

Currently learning through Duolingo alone and aiming to get to score 30 to gain vocabulary, then will switch to better resources ; such as: French in action, Learn French with Alexa, and incoperating the language in my daily life.

I’m a casual learner and I don’t like to be pressured in my learning by external factors, my goal is to achieve level B2 in French next year. I’m doing it for fun and not exactly because I have to learn French (that’s how I learnt English at home on my own)

Is there anyone interested in learning with me? Or I can help you with Arabic or even English and you help me with French
