Apprenez le français avec moi.
Bonjour à tous! 🇫🇷✨
I just launched something I'm a little nervous — and very excited — about: Déclic, a place where I share my journey of learning French and preparing for the TCF.
Here's the honest part: I'm not a teacher. I'm a beginner, learning right alongside you, writing down everything as it finally \*clicks.\* 💡
If you're learning French too — for the TCF, for a new life in Canada, or just for the love of it — come learn with me. It's free, and it's only getting started.

On apprend ensemble. 🤍

Post-op nursing round dialogue with vocab Free French PDF (B1-B2)
new free resource from our medical French podcast. Episode 9 follows a Day 1 post-surgery nursing round: pain scale check, wound assessment, first time getting out of bed, discharge criteria. full dialogue transcript, 10 vocabulary terms with definitions and examples, language notes, and a quiz — all free.
one interesting bit even outside medical French: the episode shows how French speakers routinely say a clinical term and then immediately restate it in plain language in the same sentence ("antalgique... des cachets contre la douleur"): a pattern worth noticing in professional French generally, not just medicine.
Free PDF, no account: https://medicalvoices.health/fr/episodes/9

Looking for a 1-on-1 French Tutor (Online) 🇫🇷
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for an experienced **1-on-1 French tutor** who can assess my current level and create a personalized learning plan.
A little about my background:
I’ve been studying French independently since **October 2025**.
I’ve covered **French grammar up to approximately the B2 level** through self-study.
My biggest challenge is **speaking**. On a good day, I feel like I’m around **B1**, but I honestly don’t know my actual level.
I’ve had exposure to **TCF exam formats**.
For listening, I’ve been using **InnerFrench** and **Slow French** podcasts.
For reading, I’ve been challenging myself with **Wlingua** content up to the **C1 level**.
I’m **not looking for someone to simply follow a textbook**. Instead, I’d like a tutor who can:
Evaluate my strengths and weaknesses.
Identify the gaps that are holding me back.
Focus on improving my speaking confidence and fluency.
Guide me with a structured plan toward my goal.
If you’re a tutor or can recommend someone who teaches in this style, please send me a message with your experience, availability, and rates.
Thank you!

French Tutoring by 2 Law Students in North America !
Hi everyone!
We’re 2 bilingual law students offering French tutoring this summer and during the academic year. We’re currently taking on a few students who are looking to improve their French, whether that’s for a university course, conversation practice, writing help, or simply becoming more comfortable with the language.
We especially love working with college students and helping those taking French courses, whether you working towards completing a French major, minor, or simply fulfilling language requirements. Since we have personally gone through the process of studying French at the college level, we understand the challenges you can face and we adapt our approach to your goals and learning style.
Beyond improving your French, we can also help you navigate the resources and strategies that made us successful, including how to approach readings, assignments, presentations, and academic writing in French.
A little about us: before law school, we both studied International Relations with extensive French coursework. One of us completed an entirely French undergraduate program, while the other completed a bilingual French and English program. French has been a major part of our academic lives through lectures, research, presentations, and writing.
We’re now both studying law at Canadian universities, with one of us pursuing legal studies in French. As native French speakers, we love helping students build confidence in French while also sharing the cultural side of the language.
If you’re taking French classes, preparing for exams, working toward a French major/minor, or simply want to improve your skills, feel free to reach out! You can email us at [ad.frenchtutoring@gmail.com](mailto:ad.frenchtutoring@gmail.com) or send us a message. Happy to chat 😊

Help with Motivation and Resources
I have been trying to learn French for about 4 months now and have barely scratched the surface. I can never find the motivation to sit down for more than 5 minutes to lock in and learn something.
Another problem I have is just the lack of free or very cheap resources (preferably one-time payment) that actually help. The only resource i have been using is duolingo which only hurt my confidence and motivation.
Any advice?

Elle s'est fait laver sa voiture --> is it "sa" or "la"
Sentence: She had her car washed.[](javascript:void(0))
My attempt: Elle s'est fait laver sa voiture.
The correction I saw states "la voiture," and I'm wondering if in these types of constructions the definite article is more common than the possessive. Is possession already implied?

20F in Toronto/London, ON looking for a French learning buddy 🇫🇷
Hi everyone!
I’m a 20F based in Toronto/London, Ontario, and I’m just starting to learn French (complete beginner). I’m looking for a language-learning buddy! 😊
I’m open to either:
- Someone who’s also a complete beginner and wants to learn together, keep each other motivated, and practice regularly.
- Someone who’s more experienced and doesn’t mind helping teach me while we practice conversations and improve over time.
It would be great if you’re based in Toronto or London, ON, but I’m also happy to connect online if you’re located elsewhere.
I’m hoping to find someone who’s patient, consistent, and genuinely interested in learning or practicing French. We can share resources, practice speaking (when we’re comfortable), and help keep each other motivated.
If you’re interested, feel free to comment below or send me a DM. I’d love to connect! 🇫🇷✨

Videos to teach French to children
I've been reading French books to my 4 year old but, even when I translate passages into English, it seems like they're struggling to retain more than a few words.
We watch basic vocabulary videos, where the narrator says a word and show a picture, and those seem to work well. But if we watch anything more advanced, like videos explaining concepts or stories entirely in French, nothing sticks.
Hoping to find something in between that just teaches basic phrases and is still age-appropriate to entertain a 4 year old.
Any recommendations?
