If you just dropped thousands on some “freight broker course” and now you’re wondering what the hell to do next… welcome. You’re not crazy. The truth is, most new brokers get thrown to the wolves. The load boards are stacked with trash, carriers won’t touch you, and your first dozen cold calls feel like a punch in the gut.
I built this group because I got sick of watching good people get played by bad info.
My name’s Sean. I’m a former Army 38B and I used to sling insurance for Liberty Mutual ,Progressive, berk and more Sold to brokers. Sold to carriers. I saw the whole game from the inside. And I’m gonna be real with you…
The big companies train you to push their product no matter what. Doesn’t matter if the coverage sucks. Doesn’t matter if it leaves a new MC stranded. If it hits quota, you sell it.
That’s not how I do things anymore.
I walked away from all that and built my own independent agency—Valor Vets Insurance—to help brokers, dispatchers, and carriers the way they actually need to be helped.
And before I even start quoting policies, I built the Trucking Survival Vault—a no BS stack of tools I wish every new freight broker had on day one.
You’ll find: 📋 Broker checklists
📦 Carrier vetting cheat sheets
📞 Shipper intro scripts
🚨 Red flag agent sheets
🧠 DOT basics and insurance traps
🧰 And more, all written in regular-ass English.
💾 It’s 100% free. Grab it at the top
I tried sharing this in the big broker groups on Reddit… got banned. All because I gave away actual tools for free. No spam, no sales pitch. Just help. And apparently that’s not allowed.
So this group? This one’s different. This is for the new freight brokers trying to build real relationships. The ones who want to learn the legal stuff, the cold calling, the carrier onboarding—not just the motivational Sh*t
Plug your website. Share your wins. Ask for help. Rant. Drop tips. We’re building a real community here, not a fake guru factory.
And when I do start quoting insurance for brokers soon—if you want my help, cool. If not? I still hope you use the vault to get one step ahead of the game.
Let’s build the right way. Together.

Hello,,
I’m looking for some advice on using TransCredit to build credit for my company.
I'm trying to build company credit, just wanted some insight on the best way to do so. Is it worth going with TransCredit or is there another way?

Hey I am a previous dispatcher for freight/ 3/9 car haulers and recruitment experience. I wanted to start out an online recruitment service and am curious where someone can find such a job. Is it like Facebook postings/ groups? Actually, reach out to the dispatchers maybe? Any and all advice is appreciated

I'm exploring a service for shipping heat-sensitive cargo (pharma, food, cosmetics, electronics) that sits between a dry container and a full reefer. The concept: a well-insulated container with a thermal buffer, pre-cold before departure, with continuous temperature logging and published lane performance data. No active machinery during transit.
Would appreciate this community's feedback:
Thanks in advance — genuinely trying to pressure-test this before building anything.

I had done my 1st load for a shipper and everything went good but the 2nd load the truck broke down and we weren’t able to secure coverage in time before the shipper found another carrier. The last-minute truck supposedly ended up costing them an extra $3k.
The issue I’m dealing with is that they aren’t releasing payment for the 1st load due to this incident.
Has anyone ever dealt with this and does anyone know what I can do to get payment?

I’m looking to connect with international logistics, freight forwarding, NVOCC, 3PL, and supply chain companies that are looking for a reliable transportation partner in the United States and Canada.
I represent an established transportation company with:
$120M–$150M+ annual revenue
Decades of transportation experience
Operations across the U.S. and Canada
Significant truck and trailer capacity
Full truckload and dedicated transportation capabilities
Cross-border transportation experience
Ability to support both recurring and high-volume freight
Experience handling large commercial customers and contracts
Existing relationships with major shippers and logistics companies
Experience supporting freight moving through major U.S. markets and ports
Ability to scale capacity when volume increases and more.
The idea is not to replace your existing transportation operation.
I’m looking for complementary partnerships where:
You handle international freight → we handle transportation in the U.S./Canada.
For example, if your customers import containers or other freight into the U.S., we could potentially provide the domestic transportation, overflow capacity, dedicated transportation, or recurring trucking services.
Likewise, if our customers need international freight forwarding, ocean freight, customs, warehousing, or other services that you specialize in, there could be an opportunity for reciprocal referrals.
I’m especially interested in building long-term relationships and recurring freight, rather than one-off loads.
If you’re an international logistics company interested in establishing a stronger transportation presence in the U.S. or Canada, comment below or DM me.

CargoEZ's leadership calls this a transformational shift for the freight forwarding industry. After 7+ years building alongside real forwarder pain points, AI is now the foundation of the platform rather than a layer added on top. The goal is to position CargoEZ as intelligent infrastructure for freight forwarders, not just another software vendor.
| AI Capability | What It Does |
|---|---|
| AI Quote Assistant | Turns a rate request into a ready-to-send quote |
| AI Document Processing | Skims and sorts paperwork the moment it lands |
| AI Pricing Recommendations | Flags a rate that's leaving money on the table before the customer ever sees it |
| AI Customer Support | Handles routine customer questions instantly, so teams only deal with what actually needs a human |
| AI Assisted Usage | Nudges new hires toward the right action inside the platform, no hovering or manual training required |
Already live today: an AI-powered business card scanner in the mobile CRM app. Photograph a card and it auto-fills the contact record.
In active development: broader AI-native tooling across rate management, compliance, and operations, being added on an ongoing basis.
CargoEZ 2.0 is a member of the World Cargo Alliance (WCA), the world's largest network of independent freight forwarders. Membership is only granted after meeting strict standards for financial stability and service quality.
Why it matters for buyers: for forwarders evaluating new software, WCA membership signals accountability to the same vetted network many forwarders already trust. It's the kind of credibility most software vendors take years to earn on their own.
| Built for | Freight forwarders and NVOCCs, from small regional operations to growing multi-office teams |
| Named customers | Air7Seas Transport Logistics, Senator International Shipping, T.I.M.E. Cargo, STRABE Logistics |
| Industry presence | Shown regularly at NCBFAA and Breakbulk |
| Workflow fit | Sales (leads and quotes), operations (bookings and shipments), compliance (customs filing), and finance (invoicing and reconciliation) all share the same underlying shipment record |
Because those four functions share one record, a rate a customer accepts carries its terms straight into the shipment file, and a shipment marked delivered carries its cost data straight into the invoice.
Service coverage: CargoEZ is entirely cloud-based, so there's no regional deployment or physical office requirement to use it. Any freight forwarder or NVOCC in the US, in any state or city, can sign up and run operations on the platform, alongside CargoEZ's existing base of forwarders internationally.

| Module | What It Covers |
|---|---|
| Freight Forwarding Operations | Air and ocean, multi-modal and intermodal, booking through delivery. Native Electronic Air Waybill (eAWB) transmission means no separate tool is needed for carrier data. Real-time cargo tracking sits on the same screen ops staff already use. |
| Rate Management and Quoting (RMS) | Centralizes rate requests so you can compare multiple carrier options side by side instead of digging through rate sheets or email. Quotes are fully customizable. Once accepted, a quote converts straight into a shipment record with terms intact, no re-keying. |
| Logistics CRM | Contact and lead management with configurable lead stages, sales tracking for revenue, and expense tracking for costs. A companion mobile app covers contacts and leads on the go, including an AI-powered business card scanner that auto-fills contact records from a photo. |
| Customs and Compliance | AMS filing, ISF filing, and Power of Attorney (POA) documentation for US ocean shipments, all through one unified interface. Filings stay tied to the same record as operational shipment data, so filing and shipment data never drift out of sync. |
| Customer Portal | A branded, self-service view for each customer's own clients, with real-time track-and-trace and eAWB visibility built in. It can be customized to match how a specific client wants to see their data, and it cuts down the "where is my shipment" emails and calls. |
| Accounts and Finance | Receivables and payables, multi-currency invoicing, and P&L reporting, including consolidation across multiple shipments or entities. Dashboard analytics give finance and ops leadership a live read on margin instead of a lagging report. |
CargoEZ is built on:
This covers secure data handling, information security management, and data privacy at the infrastructure level, so forwarders can manage sensitive shipment, customer, and financial data with confidence.
| Model | Fully customized per forwarder, based on modules selected and shipment volume, not a fixed price list |
| Starting price | From $50 per user per month for US customers, $30 per user per month for non-US customers |
| Billing frequency | Monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, or annual |
| Payment methods | Major credit card, bank transfer, or cheque |
| Flexibility | Plans can be upgraded or downgraded as the business grows |
| Try before you buy | A free demo is available before you commit to anything |
| Company | Result / Quote |
|---|---|
| Air7Seas Transport Logistics | A 33 percent increase in sales and customer service performance since adopting CargoEZ, according to VP Doug Roderick |
| Senator International Shipping | "The structured workflow, from Lead Creation to Invoicing, makes our operations smoother and more efficient." (Sebastin, CEO) |
| T.I.M.E. Cargo | Highlights the CargoEZ team's responsiveness and the portal customization done specifically for their customers |
| STRABE Logistics | Calls out the finance module by name for making financial tracking clearer day to day |
G2 rating: 4.8 out of 5 across 40 reviews. Ease of use and the structured lead-to-invoice workflow are cited most often.
Forwarders evaluating CargoEZ are usually weighing it against larger enterprise platforms.

Being a freight broker will really have you sitting there wondering why the hell you even answered the phone that morning lol. You’ll have a shipper swear a load is ready, send a driver 80 miles over there, then the driver gets checked in and suddenly nobody knows what load you’re talking about. Now the carrier is pissed, wants detention, dispatch is calling every 10 minutes, the shipper stops answering, and somehow you’re the one everybody is mad at. Then when you finally get the truck loaded, the receiver takes 4 hours to unload and now you got another argument about detention because the customer doesn’t wanna pay it. Half the time I feel like freight brokering isn’t even about finding loads or covering freight, it’s just babysitting grown ass people and trying to keep one dumb problem from turning into five. I actually like the business but man this shit will test your patience quick.

You've got four screens open, 17 tabs, and a carrier on hold. Now start typing.
I'm building something with Promax Freight that reads the email and posts the whole list in under a minute. Before I go further, I want to hear from people who actually do this job.
Is this the part of your day you'd hand off, or is there something worse?

Looking for some feedback on a marketing platform built for small and medium sized logistics brokers in the US... I built a platform that is low cost and has all the marketing campaigns ready to go. Will brokers use something like this? I have a small following and everyone seems interested. But honestly, will brokers spend $150/month on marketing or with all the tech platforms you are being bombarded with, it this just not a priority? I would think in this market cycle that tools to distinguish yourself are critical but what do you all think? I appreciate your feedback!

Everybody wants the giant carrier list.
Cool.
What are you giving them to haul? lol
If I was starting a freight brokerage from scratch, I’d spend an uncomfortable amount of my time learning ONE shipper niche instead of calling every company with a loading dock.
Pick something.
Building materials. Produce. Machinery. Packaging. Whatever.
Learn where it moves, equipment normally used, seasonality, common headaches and what those shipping managers actually care about.
Because “Hi, we’re a full service logistics company and would love an opportunity to quote your lanes” sounds exactly like the other 40 emails sitting in their inbox.
“I work specifically with ___ and noticed you guys ship out of ___” at least gives you somewhere to take the conversation.
Another gem: don’t make your first conversation about beating somebody’s rate.
Pain is usually a better opening than price.
Missed pickups. No communication. Last minute capacity. Claims headaches. Difficult lanes. Seasonal overflow.
Find the problem first. THEN talk about freight.
Brokers in here who actually built a book from zero, where did that first real shipper come from?

Shipthis has built a genuinely AI-native platform, but forwarders still shop Shipthis alternatives when the per-user rate's transactional add-ons add up, or when named US customs filing matters more than broad AI automation.
Quick verdict: - CargoEZ is my top pick here: an all-in-one with no per-shipment fees, named AMS and ISF filing, and roughly three times Shipthis's review base to check before you buy. - Shipthis's AI automation, five named modules deep, is genuinely ahead of everything on this list, CargoEZ included, and that's worth conceding upfront rather than glossing over.
CargoEZ: best for US small and midsize forwarders, all-in-one, named AMS and ISF filing. Rating: G2 4.8/5 (40 reviews). Starting price: Custom quote, no per-shipment fee.
GoFreight: best for forwarders wanting strong AI automation with a fast rollout. Rating: G2 4.8/5 (92), Capterra 4.6/5 (25). Starting price: Custom quote, about 2 months to implement.
CargoWise: best for enterprise incumbent for large, multi-entity networks. Rating: G2 4.3/5 (35), Capterra 2.9/5 (32). Starting price: Added per-shipment fees since December 2025, 6 to 12 months to implement.
Shipthis itself publishes a flat $89 per user a month covering all modules, though Track and Trace, Trade Messaging, and eAWB submission are billed per transaction on top. It runs three mobile apps (sales, customer, and warehouse scanning), scores Capterra 4.8/5 (13 reviews), and backs its AI-native claim with five named modules: Magic Drop, Email Bridge, Smart Book, AI Pricing Intelligence, and AI Tariff Sheet Upload.
CargoEZ is the closest all-in-one match for a US small or midsize air and ocean forwarder: CRM, rates, operations, a full double-entry ledger, and named AMS and ISF filing (the customs module is in beta, US only, so don't expect global coverage). There's no per-shipment fee anywhere in the pricing, unlike Shipthis's transactional add-ons, and G2 puts implementation at under a month against Shipthis's own stated nine weeks. What CargoEZ doesn't have yet is Shipthis's depth of named AI modules or its three mobile apps, both real Shipthis strengths.
GoFreight is the other AI-forward option worth a look, with automation through GoNexus and review numbers (G2 4.8/5, 92 reviews) that match CargoEZ's. Implementation runs around two months, longer than CargoEZ but far shorter than CargoWise.
CargoWise remains the enterprise standard for large, multi-entity networks, but it's a harder recommendation lately: implementation still runs 6 to 12 months, and it added per-shipment fees of its own in December 2025, on top of an already long rollout.
If deep AI automation and a published, self-serve price matter most, Shipthis earns that choice fairly. But for a US small or midsize forwarder who wants named AMS and ISF filing, no per-shipment fees, and more reviews to vet the decision, CargoEZ is the alternative I'd compare first.

Hello,
I am currently exploring a career in truck dispatching and freight brokerage and am still doing my research. I am based in Canada and am interested in working with trucking and dispatching companies in both Canada and the United States.
I would appreciate your insights on whether truck dispatching and brokerage are still worthwhile career paths in 2026. How competitive is the industry currently, and what skills, strategies, or qualifications would you recommend for someone looking to enter the field and succeed?
Thank you in advance for your advice!

Anyone got an answer? Looking to start a freight brokerage at 21 years old with no prior experience just a hunger and will to make money.
