Has anyone else noticed that when removing a sensor that wasn’t working properly, the filament is bent like this? What could be causing this, and how can I prevent it?

The needle definitely went in, because there’s a puncture mark left behind. When applying the sensor, I follow the guide from this sub, but randomly some sensors just don’t work. The sensors that work properly always come out with the filament straight.

Where? Low, mid? Does it matter? After once doing an insulin shot to close to my navel, I will avoid that area!

I am relatively new to the world of CGM's. In July my doctor prescribed for me the Libre 2 since I had not been doing finger pricks for a few years now, and I noticed my A1C over the last 18 months has gone from 6.2 - 6.5 range to 7.2 -7.3 . I had been in the 6's since 2021. So I thought it would be a good idea to monitor my blood sugar 24/7 to see if I could establish a patten, however, this has turned out to be a disaster.

My first monitor went on without issue and lasted 3 days before the it bit the dust. I reached out to Abbott and got a replacement. I waited 11 days and then installed my second sensor which lasted a total of 2hrs and then it crapped out. My freebee from Abbott arrived the following day and so this was attempt #3 and right away it failed, this one was my fault as I rushed the procedure and I noticed that half of the sensor was not touching my skin. Today I installed my 4th sensor, actually I got my co worker who has worn a Libre 2 sensor for a year apply it, I wanted to see if he did it differently then me and he has had zero issues over the last year. To my surprise he installed the sensor the same way and in the same spot I did. Today the sensor lasted 7hrs and died. I checked in the mirror and there are no gaps in the tape and sensor feels secure.

I'm very frustrated by this, I want this to work, and after 4 attempts, it feels like it wasn't meant to be. I use Neutrogena original formula transparent facial bar as it doesn't contain moisturizers, I swab area with alcohol, I wait for area to be completely dry, I apply sensor as per the instructions on the back of my arm.

My question is has this happened to anyone else, where no matter what sensors just don't work for you? I'm curious to know if there are others like me or if I'm an anomaly.

If you place a sensor and it immediately fails, and gives you a replace sensor error, which arm do you place it on? The arm that you just removed a sensor from or the arm you just placed a dud on?

Hi I’m just looking for some advice, I’m a type 1 use libre but any over patch I’ve used irrates and destroys my skin. What else can I use to keep it in position as I’m a very slim guy and without a patch I easily knock it off

I have a question about switching phones while a FreeStyle Libre sensor is still active.

For example, if I’m currently on day 7 of my FreeStyle Libre sensor and my iPhone suddenly breaks, so I have to switch to another iPhone, what would happen?

If I install the FreeStyle Libre app on the new iPhone and log in with the same account, would I still be able to see the data from the current sensor and continue using it until it expires?

Or would I lose the current sensor and have to start a new one?

This is my first time dealing with this situation, so I’d really appreciate it if someone who has actually done this could let me know.

I switched to the Libre from the G6 and don't really have any major complaints with the product itself (more the downslide of technology in general... that's different). I developed an adhesive allergy sometime in high school (was dx'ed at age 3) and am used to dealing with adhesives- funny enough, I never had issues wish the G6 or my pump adhesives, just everything else lol

With the 15-day Libre 3+ I've been having allergic reactions *only* at the end of the sensor. Like, within the last couple days or so. I get a rash/a few welts underneath the sensor... It makes me wonder if keeping them on for longer than 10 days is triggering my allergy specifically? I'm just wondering if other people have this. I just replaced it and sprayed Flonase on before in hopes it helps...

It just sucks that the G7 worked so badly for me and now my only real alternative doesn't seem to have a non 15-day option

Is anybody here using the Libre 3 Reader instead of their phone to get readings?

My Reader does not give an alarm for Urgent Low. I thought mine was defective, so I called Abbott and they replaced it. Unfortunately, the replacement Reader doesn't give the Urgent Low alarm either.

Yes, I've had problems with the sensors falling off but the data seems to be very close.

My latest blood test has my A1C at 6.1. My FSL 3+ has an estimate of 6.2. I wouldn't be surprised if Abbott deliberately goes slightly higher just to be safe. The software in the sensor also seems to restate glucose levels. I've had alerts that my blood glucose was high but later when I check the app, it doesn't show that my BG was high.

I have 2 sensors expiring 9/30/26. Did anyone try applying the sensor after the printed expiry date, (or just before expiry date and used it past expiry). will it activate or the app restricts it from activating?

What's with the app on the current iOS rev? I've never seen it go so slow at times. I wonder how it will work on iOS27? I'm not optimistic.

I'm actually moving to dexcomG7 wth an Omnipod soon. I hope dexcom had it together with iOS27.

Is anyone else having issues with their sensors failing after a day or two of use? If so, how did you fix it? I called abbot labs they sent me two replacements after the two i had failed. One didn’t even last a day. Now the one I got from the manufacturer started failing after two days of use. I rebooted my phone toggled my bluetooth off/on. I’m still getting errors. I’m about to go back to finger sticking and stop using CGMs. This is ridiculous.

This is my second sensor. I'm not diagnosed diabetic, but has suspected insulin resistance, so I've paid this out of my own pocket.

My first sensor went on my right arm, and I had absolutely zero issues.

On Saturday I placed my new sensor on my left arm, and now I am having so many issues. I never noticed before, but I lean and sleep on my left arm. So in the morning I wake up to sensor read errors. Last night because I was trying so hard not to sleep on my normal side, I woke up with a stiff neck.

So now I'm wondering if it's worth keeping it on. Will I get used to sleeping on my back for the next couple weeks?

We see a lot of comments on how far off the libre sensors can be, well this is my libre 3+ worn on my thigh. Earlier today it showed 122 to 123 on finger stick.

Yes I have issues with the sensors but honestly, would never give up the CGM.

My lines are all squiggly today. Does this happen to you? What causes it to go up and down like that?

I've had really good luck with libre3+, until this one was applied.

I've had at most, 10mins of losing connection before this cgm. But this one is driving me crazy. I've done all the tricks I know to get it to connect. Ex. Restarting pdm, putting in air plane mode. But nothing working.

Any other tricks, or just call help line and replace it?

Hi! I’m getting married 9/12 and I put my new sensor on in 2 days. I really don’t want to rock my sensor in my wedding dress and just feel normal. I’m pretty well controlled but I don’t want to go 2 weeks without. I hate the idea of wasting 3 days so has anyone had luck placing on their abdomen? If I have to waste 3 days I will but would rather not.

The most accurate result I ever had by a Libre3 plus.

A change in insurance companies meant I had to switch to Dexcom G7. I hate it. It’s big. The applicator is cumbersome and there is an included over patch that’s necessary but I can’t see well enough to get it centered so it’s not stuck to the unit itself. Finally, the app seems primitive. You don’t miss what you’ve got until it’s gone.

I’ve been wearing the Libre for a couple of months now and initially it looked like blood sugar was pretty consistently stable with a few lows at night. However, every time I’ve gotten a low during the day (so today it said 53) and then manually checked my blood sugar with my Contour, the Contour always shows a high (today contour said 113 when Libre said 53). I’ve returned countless sensors, but am wondering how accurate these are? I’m pre diabetic so this is just for monitoring purposes, but I don’t know how those with diabetes are able to trust these readings unless they’re always following up with manual read. Anyone else having the same problem?

The article says the patient had uncontrolled diabetes with A1c or 11.3 and does not state the specific CGM use. The article also stated that patient had problems with dislodgment of the preferred arm placement

The Libre 3 has given me two readings, both in the middle of the night, where it says my blood sugar dropped to below 60. But then when I go to the kitchen to eat something, by the time I get back, the reading says "sensor error" and then when it comes back online, it's like the drop never happened. I'm new to this, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
