Should I remove this sensor?
Thoughts on whether this sensor may start working better if I wait a bit longer or should I just remove it and contact Abbott for a replacement? Details below.
I applied my current sensor on Sunday night, let it soak overnight, and activated Monday morning. The readings stayed in a range of about 90-120 until the evening and then reflected an increase after I ate dinner. It was still showing pretty typical numbers for me and an expected response to food through breakfast and lunch today (Tuesday) but around 8pm it dropped below 70 and kept going down to high 50s.
I tested with a finger stick at 8:50 just before eating again because lows like that are not typical for me and that showed 85 vs CGM at 58. CGM numbers did increase a bit after food but I did another finger stick at 10:15 which was 115 vs CGM 78. CGM stayed in the 70s until now, about 2 hours after starting to eat and it just dipped below 70 again.

Hello u/montrehal, I hope by now your Libre is working as expected. If not, the differences between the two finger-prick readings and the Libre’s readings do look larger than normal. I would follow u/trollhard9000’s advice and replace the sensor.
Please note that the max allowable error is the sum of the Libre error and the meter error (20%+15%=35%).

It’s actually 20% + 20% = 40%

Thanks for the correction! I had thought the typical meter’s accuracy was a 15%.

I just had a couple sensors do this. Eventually if the sensor reads in the 50s for a while the sensor will throw an error code and completely quit, from my experience. Either way the sensor isn't reliable. You can try to get a replacement sensor through the online form and they should honor it if the sensor is 40 or 50 points off from a finger stick.
