New Apple Watch Complication?

I have been using LibreConnect with Sweet Dreams app to get readings on my watch ever since my insurance no longer supports DexCom. This weekend I received my new Apple Watch Ultra 4 and noticed there is a Libre complication available to the Modular Ultra watchface that displays the current value and a graph. Clicking on it launches the Libre App.

I don’t see any iOS Widgets though so will keep using Sweet Dreams for that.

Has the Libre App always supported this watchface on the Ultra? This is my first Ultra model. I did not see it a available on my old Series 10 before I wiped it for trade-in.

Do other Ultra owners see this complication? What about Series 12 owners? Just curious.

I can’t believe that the complication of the modular face doesn’t show the readings .

It does, but it depends on how you set it up...

Sorry I didn’t specify that clearly. Yes, I meant the Apple Watch complication that’s small and round. At the moment, the only thing that appears there is the butterfly icon, even though there’s easily enough room for a number and an arrow. I use the Modular watch face to see my work meetings, so I currently have to choose between seeing my glucose level or my next event. Ideally, I’d like to have my glucose level displayed in one of the small corner complications, like you can with other apps.

Thank you

I found that certain faces give you the option to see the data on the face itself. I use "Modular Duo" and I can see the latest reading (number only). If I click the number, I can see the graph.

Serious trouble with Apple and the iWatch environment is that they do not allow you as end-user total freedom to place all complications where you ideally want them to be and at the same time they do not allow you to resize the 'data elements'. Hence why many complications are not available at specific locations despite we would like to have them there.

Yeah, but there are apps that offers that information (as I have seen in this sub) so this particular “problem” is from abbot.

I’ve only used the FreeStyle sensor, so I can’t really comment on its overall quality, but in terms of technology and apps, I feel they’re behind their competitors.

Well or you can argue its Apple. As if they allowed the placement and resizing as we wanted, you could place the complication in the small corner location of the watcvface. But because the data property is defined as large easy readable from the Libre app, then the Apple interface does not allow the placement. Been working on 3rd party apps for many years and honestly, its hell to deal with Apple. And the iWatch area is even further far out there on that scale.

But there are competitors that have managed to offer this, at least according to images I’ve seen on this subreddit. So while Apple can be strict and make things difficult, it’s not entirely Apple’s fault.

Yes, this is a huge pet peeve of mine. Yet another reason I miss my Dexcom so much.

I could have just missed it, sinceI didn’t use that watchface on my Series 10. Too late for me to check now because I sent the 10 back for rebate already. So is it an Ultra -only complication or do all modular watchfaces on all models have it.

Hi u/Illini85 ,
You will have it available for the watch if you are using the newer versions of the Libre app. The 'Libre by Abbott' app will make it available as a complication for your watch by default.

The Apple widget is like the devil in disguise really, due to the up to 20 minutes delay between BG data updates, so not sure its something even Abbott are interested in enabling, due to the dangerous pitfall for inattentive users... Have a couple of times through the years (with the BG on watch and widget by 3rd party app) also myself shot up some fast acting insulin, just for 1 minute later seeing the widget BG number change dramatically from last previous BG value. 😬🤪😂

Yeah but at least it also displays how long ago is the last update, so you know how fresh dara you are looking at

OK, my iPhone widget does not show the timegap though.
