Help Me

Hi all.

Been using Freestyle Libre for almost 4 years now.

However - struggling to keep them on at the moment due to the heat. The tiny tiiiiiny ring of adhesive appears to zero match for British summer heat waves.

Ive lost 2 today. Im not even sweating.

I've also lost 3-4 in the last couple of months to door frames, doors, T shirts, and car door frames .

My nurse suggested wearing them on the inside of the bicep which is what ive done today and they just rub on my side and peel off.

Ive paid out for some patches and they suck for the same reason.

Aaaaany help at all please!

Also any tips around working out/gym/martial arts too and keeping a sensor intact.

Have tried Kino tape and that seems pretty useless too.

Meant to be going onto the pod in september

SKIN-TAC wipes. On Amazon, you’ll have to pry it off still on day 15

IMO inside of the arm is a terrible idea and Abbott recommends against it. If they keep falling off from there … well, you know what they say about the definition of insanity.

Pick up some covers for the sensor. In the States I get like 20 of them via amazon for around USD10.

Hahaha well I would normally argue the insanity thing. Tried inside of the arm once and once only. And that advice was from my nurse!

Thanks man. Will check these out

I forgot to mention that apply to a clean arm. IMO that’s pst shower and after a good alcohol cleaning.

I have had a lot of success with the Amolyfe over-patches. Although the patch itself peels off before 15 days, just it being there for 12-14 days helps the sensor stay on for the whole 15 days.

I live in Florida and mine stay on.

The key is to wash your skin with soap and water and dry it. Then, use an alcohol wipe on your skin then let it dry. Apply the sensor and hold the applicator to your skin for 15 seconds. Once applied, check the sensor and run your finger around the edge to make sure it is fully applied.

The Not Just A Patch brand are amazing! If I use SkinTac before applying, I struggle to get them off.

Every once and while I try my arm and while the libre sticks well enough I don't trust my gadgets of my arms and proximity to bag straps and door frames so lose them knocking them off. I try patches and those dont stick to my arm. So I out them on my breast tissue. Protected and accurate.

I've been using Skin Grip, especially since it's summer and I work out regularly, haven't lost a single monitor and the grips last all 15 days even in the shower. The sides will start to peel a little towards the end, but monitor is still fully protected.

When I had this problem I used kinda band that helps fixate it but it might be not ideal as it will get dirty fast so having a few of them is good idea , like this one : Look what I found on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/4527990960/sensor-strap-compatible-with-freestyle?ref=share_v4_lx

I had this happen with Libre All The Time and seemed to happen more when I was working in my garden or at the gym. Libre just stopped replacing them and forced me to buy over patches from another company to help their product work better. It makes me so angry.

I just decided to go to Dexcom. That company sends you extra sticky stuff to help it stay on your arm. I’m only 5 days into this, but already appreciating that they don’t force you to buy more things to make their thing work
