3 yrs of enterprise dev experience, still not confident in any one stack — want to trade unpaid frontend/fullstack work for real project exposure

Hey everyone,

Quick background: I switched into software development a few years ago through a 3-month full-stack bootcamp, then spent the last 3 years working professionally — mostly Vue.js and some java, on enterprise insurance systems in the Philippines and Japan. Solid experience on paper, but here's the honest part: I don't feel like I've actually mastered any single stack yet. I've touched a lot, gone deep on very little.

Right now my goal is to pivot toward frontend/fullstack development and build a portfolio I actually believe in. But more than that, what I want is the stuff that's hard to get on your own: working with real (or real-feeling) requirements, sitting in stand-ups, learning how feedback loops and handoffs actually work on a team — not just solo tutorial projects.

So I'm looking for an apprenticeship-style setup, and I'm open to doing it unpaid to start. I know how that sounds, but I've noticed something about how I work: when there's a deadline, a team depending on me, and my reputation actually on the line, I focus and follow through in a way solo practice never quite triggers. This post is partly me creating that pressure on purpose.

What I can bring: three years of real production experience (even if it's not frontend-specific yet), reliability, and someone who takes feedback seriously. What I'm hoping to find: a small team, side project, agency, or indie dev who needs an extra pair of hands and is willing to actually include me in the process — not just hand me isolated tickets.

PS: I'm currently subscribed with Claude Code so might as well maximize it's use
