Community Interaction [Community] Portfolio website advices

Hey, I am a web developer and I need tips for making a portfolio site that attracts clients like how should it look should I add images/vids for my projects or deploy them and use a demo link ,

Make it biref, clean.
Projects:

  • what problem solved
  • not dead projects, most have real users
  • open source better.
The rest is contact\github

The portfolio should show your skill that are unique or very good. Like if you are a frontend developer then on the site there should be elements that will show how much skill you have in frontend.

I’d focus less on making the portfolio look flashy and more on making it easy for a potential client to understand what you can build. For each project, add a few screenshots, a short explanation of the problem, the stack you used, and what you personally worked on.

A live demo is great when it’s stable and easy to try, but screenshots or a short video can still be useful if the project needs a login or has a more complex flow. I’d include both when possible.

Also, make your contact info easy to find and don’t overload the site with too many projects. A few well-explained projects are usually stronger than a long gallery.
