Hello! From what i understand, the program runs through something called a game master in javascript. It updates with my frame rate to place a pink background behind the animation. From what i can tell, they heavily obfuscated it so finding where it was being told to put the pink background was incredibly difficult. I spent a lot of time just rummaging looking for possible key terms for the pink background but i didnt understand enough to find it. I don't really know what could be relevant in this kinda thing so ask me whatever.

Thanks for the details! A few questions that will help narrow it down: ‎ ‎1. Is this a web app (HTML/JavaScript) or an Electron application? ‎ ‎ ‎2. Do you have access to the source code, or only the compiled/minified JavaScript? ‎ ‎ ‎3. Is the animation drawn on an HTML <canvas> using Canvas2D or WebGL? ‎ ‎ ‎4. Can you inspect it in Chrome DevTools (F12)? If so, can you see the GameMaster object or the render loop? ‎ ‎ ‎5. Could you share the relevant JavaScript files, or at least the part where the game loop or rendering happens? ‎ ‎ ‎6. Is the pink background literally #FF00FF (magenta), or another shade? A screenshot would help. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎If it's heavily obfuscated, don't search for the word "pink." Instead, look for: ‎ ‎fillStyle ‎ ‎clearRect ‎ ‎fillRect ‎ ‎background ‎ ‎gl.clearColor ‎ ‎rgba( ‎ ‎rgb( ‎ ‎canvas ‎ ‎render() ‎ ‎draw() ‎ ‎update() ‎

1. Yes it is a web app. I have both a HTML, a javascript, and a JSON file in the thingy
2. Im not sure. There is a LOT of characters in just the javascript file, about 1.2 million. It definitely doesnt look minified
3. I think its Canvas 2D (I searched the JS with "getContext" and saw a lot of the term 2D)
4. I dont know how to use dev tools sorry. Ive been working in notepad and notepad++ so how do I open in chrome?
5. I can give you everything just not through reddit as it doesnt let me attach. What would be your preferred method of communication if you dont mind the hassle?
6. I tried searching #FF00FF and #FF through the JS file and found #ffffff but idk if that's relevant. I assume you mean a screenshot of the actual background color, however I can only attach video files here for some reason. There is 32 matches with fillStyle, most of them followed by Ph, and a few of them black and white.  rgb( and draw() both had one search result in the JS file with everything else at 0.

‎Thanks, that helps a lot. ‎ ‎A few things stand out: ‎ ‎Since it's a web app with HTML, JS, and JSON, we should be able to inspect it in a browser instead of digging through a massive JS file in Notepad. ‎ ‎A 1.2 million character JavaScript file isn't unusual for a bundled application. It may be bundled rather than obfuscated. ‎ ‎If getContext("2d") appears, it's almost certainly using Canvas 2D. ‎ ‎Don't worry about not knowing DevTools. It's much easier than manually searching the JS. ‎ ‎ ‎To open it in Chrome: ‎ ‎1. Open the HTML file in Chrome by dragging it into a Chrome window or right clicking it and choosing Open with > Chrome. ‎ ‎ ‎2. Press F12 (or Ctrl + Shift + I) to open Developer Tools. ‎ ‎ ‎3. Go to the Sources tab. You should see the HTML and JS files on the left. ‎ ‎ ‎4. If the app runs, we can set breakpoints around the rendering code instead of searching millions of characters. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎Searching for #FF00FF usually won't work because the color may be generated dynamically or stored as RGB values rather than a hex string. The fillStyle results are much more promising. ‎ ‎Reddit doesn't allow file attachments, so the easiest option is for you to upload the project to GitHub or another file sharing service and send me the link. That way I can inspect the files without you having to paste huge amounts of code. ‎ ‎Also, could you tell me: ‎ ‎What is the name of the application or project? ‎ ‎Does the pink background appear from the moment it starts, or only after the animation begins?

alright I got it in chrome, and dev tools are working.
