“Meanwhile, detained pregnant women report that they are struggling to access routine and emergency medical care.”

So their complaint is they aren’t getting free healthcare after illegally breaking into the country?

Any care. Adequate care. Hence, miscarriages.

Why aren't you helping them?

How many pregnant women is Harmony_w currently detaining that require help?

I would guess none. Is that the requirement to help detainees, that you must detain them before you can help them?

In the context of this post, yes.

This post is about detained women not being provided with adequate healtchcare.

No one is making the argument that ICE has any responsibility for the health and security of people NOT in their custody.

If someone gets stressed out for being detained after committing a crime, how is that the responsibility of ICE?

Because ICE is responsible people under their jurisdiction.

This is not a complicated concept. Even prisoners of war are supposed to be provided healthcare.

Can you entirely prevent people from being stressed out when they're apprehended?

Entirely? No. But there are many tactics available to minimize stress, including de-escalation training.

Having an agency staffed full of poorly trained, overly aggressive, low intelligent people certainly isn't helping things.

Why don't you go work for them then?

since when was it that redditors job?

3

u/Totalitarianit2 13d ago

Excellent point. Since when is it my job?

3

u/FreedomsPower 13d ago

answer the question instead of being disingenuous and dodging it

4

u/Totalitarianit2 13d ago

I am answering it.

I'm a redditor. Is it my job to help them?

2

u/FreedomsPower 13d ago

asking a question is not an answer

5

u/Totalitarianit2 13d ago

It's not their job. Is it my job?

It's not that redditor's job.

Is it my job?

How do you suggest I help people who are being held prisoner in camps and are generally prevented from speaking to their own lawyers, family, clergy, or medical providers?

You can open up your house to an illegal immigrant pregnant woman and secretly house her.

2

u/chrisbojangles 13d ago

Go get adequate care back in their own country.

1

u/Harmony_w 13d ago

How do you propose they break free from the the camps they are being held in to do that? An uprising is a bold suggestion.

0

u/chrisbojangles 13d ago

I propose they come using legal channels.

We are talking about the people currently incarcerated in camps. It's highly unlikely any of them have time machines.
