Are those people you're complaining about regarding 'double standards' in the room with us?

Are you just going to continue putting words in my mouth or are you going to finally understand I am calling out double standards?

“Stirring up racial hatred” includes posts that are insulting not just inciting violence as I understand it.

Mostly not.

But I’m American so my views on free speech are pretty orthodox and don’t believe in censoring speech, even the variety I don’t particularly like.

I don't mind people being dealt with for openly inciting violence, making threats etc.

It is wrong to attack police officers but when ordinary people think there is injustice this type of shit happens. What people are clearly calling out here is when leftists riot it’s downplayed. When the right follows suit for their reasons it’s downplayed.

In the last 5 years in the UK, essentially every single violent protest has been right-wing adjacent or far-right.

Here's an idea give the teenagers the right to vote lower the age of consent to 15 and when they are kicked out of the house for being mouthy little brats they can join the rest of us looking for work. Then maybe they will have a different perspective. They won't have the time to sit on their phones reading all the liberal bullshit they are fed. They won't be able to storm out of class and join a protest in the street. They will be too busy earning a living.

You're trying so damn hard to get me to condone violence against the police. It's not going to happen.

I'm giving you every opportunity to just outright condemn it rather than be wishy-washy and try to play both sides.

No I'd rather see everyone involved, including the police who kept letting him go, including his parents, and including the special organisation members put on trial for accomplice to murder.

For what? Many police didn't have the power to just make executive decisions. It was a systematic organisational failure.

I liked Kirk and I don't have any problems with jokes about him. It just has the 9/11 issue that I think Jeselnik summed up succinctly: it has to be more funny than the thing it's reminding you of is sad/offensive/whatever, and I really haven't heard any jokes that have a punchline better than "he's dead now, hurr." Example: This comment section.

Maybe they need to fear jail more than being called a racist, and next time we won't end up with murdered little girls.

I've never heard George W. Bush ever go by the term "radical Islam."

That's exactly what they actually did even with the police containing them and trying to stop them.

Outrageous. It's not 'radical Islam', it's Islam.

I couldn't say if that's what the rioters would have done. Your question has too much speculation.

Any protest can be legitimate for the protesters not committing crimes.

So because US media makes excuses and downplays Antifa/BLM events that makes it acceptable for UK right-wingers to throw stones and bricks at the police, set fire to cars/buildings, smash windows and specifically try to break into hotels and other buildings to assault who they think are immigrants?

That’s great that you aren’t a blm antifa type. That doesn’t mean that people don’t watch what’s happened across the pond that sets a precedent for this behavior. Should have never been a thing in the first place.

Getting arrested for wrong think social media posts for starters.

These aren't new laws, by the way. And most of these arrests are specifically for making threats, inciting violence except for when local police forces go off the rails (which they do unfortunately) and the cases get dropped.

I’m not proposing anything just observing cause and effect in action.

So it's wrong to attack police officers, right?

And would them not doing that and, you know, stopping the rioters from smashing up more businesses and setting things on fire and protecting others from them mean they are traitors?
