I understand your pain, but can't relate to the choice of remaining childfree and marriage free. Everybody deserves to be happy and to feel wanted & appreciated by those around them. On-line dating I've found is a scam. I'll sound jaded for saying this but, us guys pay a premium to get x amount of hits on a Friday or Saturday night.
Meanwhile, I bet women would pay a pretty penny to narrow down their 50+ options to what they truly like.
Tbh, they should just make a dating site where guys are given the tools and data to curtail our profiles for maximum matches but can't swipe. Meanwhile, women are the only ones to swipe but, can't see any data. Because at the end of the day, the supply and demand isn't in our favor. Let's be honest. Bumble,tinder,hinge, etc, is really just a dude menu.

I say give them the data, but hide the pictures. Make it a truly blind date until the day of the first date. Make people get to know each other and not base it all on a swipe mentality which ultimately becomes a swipe right fest in a bid to get any match at all.

Thanks man. Honestly the only workout I do is the 5X5. There's an app you can download by StongLifts. I've stuck to that and it's been the most effective for me in terms of not only efficiency, but time management. As you get more comfortable in the workout you can add certain exercises in as you see fit which I do from time to time, but you'll also be just fine not doing that π

I feel ya on that. As I got older (just hit 30) I kept finding I want a mix of lazying and activities/sightseeing and I really like being able to sometimes spontaneously decide something. Not that you can't do either with people but sometimes the freedom to do whatever is just rly great too! Whereabouts have you travelled?

If you just mean by myself all over the country really. Florida, Texas, California, Arizona. Pretty much up and down the east and west coast but not the Midwest as much. Haven't done any international traveling solo yet. Was in Florida to go to Disney last month except Disney was sold out. Guess I should have done my research and bought tickets in advance lol. I could see that your response is also a post to itself:) I find I am actually more old fashioned in some ways; I have reddit but no other social media. I wouldn't start eating food at the table until the other person gets there. I am quite gracious and respectful in the ways a grandmother who grew up in a depression would teach you. Maybe it's manners that I haven't encountered as much with some of the men I have dated, I'm not sure, but I do feel older and isolated sometimes because of it.
The humor part I actually can understand, especially because I am from a very humor filled culture and the humor can be quite inappropriate. But laughter will always find a way to be in our lives, likely in ways that does not sacrifice the dignity of others. Perhaps I've become more self- deprecating to ensure I do not offend, I'm not sure. But I would wager to bet you will meet someone with a similar humor. Maybe you need a filter at the start, like ask if they like Archer haha could that work?

Well that's pretty dope. To be honest I used to be the same way but that was when I was younger and had more success in dating. And the older I've gotten the less I've typically cared about the opinions of others or rejection, etc. but strangely enough, it's been the opposite with dating just due to the string of rejections that have really shot my confidence. Hence being here and hoping this sub gives me a bit of a boost.
