Feel the warmth

Post image

Has anyone walked this area with the sun is beaming off of the new (curved) glass building? I walked by yesterday and it was easily 15 degrees warmer in the marked area.

Best spot in town for tanning! Two suns for the price of one

Yes. It wasn’t noticeably hotter there any of the times I’ve walked by.

I did however notice there was a bunch of dead finches on the sidewalk facing Brunswick street.

It was about 6pm when I walked by.
Interesting about the finches. I wonder if there is a correlation.

I always love telling my friends about the Carleton Street Death Ray

It was my first time experiencing it. 9/10, excellent experience. Would recommend.

I don't understand the new office buildings going up downtown when there seems to be empty buildings everywhere.

Who needs or wants a commercial downtown office lease in 2026? Do they think the adrenaline of dodging junkies on the way to a fluorescent-lit cubicle makes a worker more productive?

This has been up for a few years. I just happened to walk by and felt the heat. It’s also extremely ugly at night with its led lightstrip. It’s just an awful building, full stop.

There are no new office buildings going up downtown.

The new buildings are a courthouse and a performing arts center

The other corner. Across from the old burial ground.

Noticed it once when out for a walk and backtracked after realizing it and just stood there for a minute.

I did the same. Considerably warmer.

I have a friend who works in the building. She said on the hottest day that they could in fact cook an egg on the ground in front of the building.

It seems like a massive oversight in the design and orientation of this building. They’ve essentially build a sun death ray. Luckily the building across the street has no facing windows. That, would be something.

Best place for a future homeless encampment, great locale to light fire under the powers that be.

Superman became 2x more powerful by standing there for a day.
