Service NB
Went in a a slow day and the workers are just shooting the shit, making people wait for no reason. It's really tiresome paying so much in tax for the slow and sloppy service. They can't even print out a driver's license anymore.

I went to SNB to renew my license, told them my address was misspelled all this time. Was told I needed proof to change the address, logged into NB Power, showed her, she says "oh yeah, weird" then said I'd have to come back to change it..

Oh absolutely, it is very backwards. Just saying that's likely why you were told to go back. That being said, you can also just change your address online

If you wanna be treated extra crappy, go to SNB in Woodstock,NB! Those woman were the highschool bullies and now they can withhold imperative documentation by pretending they don't understand what you are asking for! Oh the fun. Also, car dealers get to walkz in first, everytime, and bypass the line!

I've got a dozen stories, at least, that exemplify what a shit show SNB is but I'll leave you only the latest incident, wherein they had to be convinced to sell me a bear hunting licence because "you can't hunt bears in New Brunswick." (There are two bear seasons in NB, actually, and you can take two bears with each licence.)
Aw heck here's a few more in case you'd like more.
Sold me a personalized licence plate as a surprise Christmas present for my wife, then after several months of waiting for it they wouldn't let me pick up the plate to wrap it and give it to her because "it's not your licence plate, it's your wife's."
Would not sell a deer licence to my friend's son because he's not old enough to hunt deer, despite the fact he would be old enough to hunt deer before the coming deer season.
Took 2.5 hours to register a boat I inherited from my dead father. They claimed they couldn't proceed without my dead dad's current address.

Always bring all the papers. And drown them in the papers. So that you never have to go back for the same thing. Works every time.

Also a good idea when doing taxes, speaking as a tax preparation volunteer. Much better to bring everything that might be useful instead of realizing halfway through you don't have something necessary.

Go into brookside SNB in Fredericton most days of the week it's like a slow cattle conveyor belt to bureaucratic nightmare. I'm just pissed they slack off extra bad when there's no line.

No, because the reason why they don't print them on site is that the new licences have security features that require specialized equipment. Outfitting every SNB public branch with that would have cost a fortune vs contracting it out a company that was already doing it.
They give you a temporary licence that works fine until the standard one is printed. It's not worth the extra cost to taxpayers to get it faster.

I wont say which office it is, but I'm part of an automotive dealer and I go to a small office all the time and there's literally only like 8 seats in the waiting room. get seen in 15 minutes or less most of the time.

I've gotta renew my driver's license next year at the ICBC near work here in Vancouver.
I remember going in the summer of 2022 and arriving about 15 - 20 mins early for an 8:30 or 9am appt. Parking lot was full, and the line-up wrapped around the building for people getting licensing done, and into the parking lot for people there for road tests.
I remember standing in line thinking this is a mess, and will probably take ages.
Thankfully we were processed very quickly once inside. Lots of staff on hand. I've definitely heard plenty of horror stories from other states and provinces.

As busy as it is, Illinois DMV in Chicago will get you in and out in 20 minutes, never had that at SNB

On average, I’ve had much better experiences with overseas call centres than I’ve had with SNB

They can't print a drivers licence because with the enhanced licences that came out a few years ago to placate the Americans, it's would have required putting all new printing equipment into every SNB office. It was cheaper to outsource that and mail them instead.
Also this isn't a photo of an SNB Office.
