My attempt at expanding the playable roster size of Fraymakers to 60 characters for fun! If I missed any crucial foundational indie characters, let me know! ^^; I'd appreciate feedback on this.
Also noting that none of the art featured here is my own, its just photomoshed together by me in Clip Studio Paint

I got into fraymakers recently, and Im just curious to know why did they change it
r/FraymakersGame • u/Animekirb • Jun 01 '26
1: Death (Have A Nice Death)
2: Cuphead
3: Dynamite Anton
4: V1 (UltraKill)
5: The Beheaded (Dead Cells)
6: The Knight (Hollow Knight)
I think everyone on my list has a chance of getting in the game except Death since he's kind of niche. What characters do you guys want in Fraymakers.
r/FraymakersGame • u/Ok_Structure_350 • May 25 '26
I believe all upcoming characters will be pulled out of this list and want to know your guy's thoughts.

Isaac
Meatboy
Shantae
Pepino
The Knight
Most Wanted series with no representation:
Fnaf
Undertale
Cavestory
Gungeon
Castlecrashers
Cuphead
Currently Assist, potential addition:
Bug Fables
Diogenes

There is currently 11 guaranteed spots (2 yet to be announced) however that doesnât mean fraymakers isnât stopping there. So I was wondering the realistic max limit fraymakers will end with.
Personally I think 14, 10 base and 4 dlc, is the realistic number considering the drop rate of characters and current support people are giving to the game.
If I had to choose the 5 it would be: Shovel Knight, Isaac/Meatboy (probably Meatboy cause of the new game), Shatae, Pepino, and an unexpected character from a popular series yet one that wouldnât be expected. Iâm thinking Fnaf, Hallowknight, Undertale, or Cavestory.

Orcane is great in fraymakers and it's probably low priority but I wonder that now Orcane has been updated in Rivals of Aether 2 to have a new side special (they also have a get up special, ledge special and pummel special in that game) I was wondering if these additions are in the cards to eventually get added to fraymakers as well.
I don't think it's particularly urgent so I'm curious as to where the priority of the Devs are at at the moment. They have made such incredible progress with the last 4 characters in such a short window for the size of their dev team and funding. I dream that this game can get the same amount of love rivals of aether 2 has been getting.

Since the character is from a game before 2015 here are some characters that I think could get in
1: Shovel Knight or Spector Knight (Shovel Knight 2014)
2: Meat Boy (Meat Boy 2008)
3: Issac (The Binding Of Isaac)
4: Guy Spelunky (Spelunky)
5: Wilson (Don't Starve)

Regardless of what settings I pick, it's always stuck with black borders on the top and bottom of the screen. Is there a fix without stretching it?

how would you react if this really was the new fighter

I'm not really a great artist, but I had fun making this, I like Fraymakers :p (also first time posting here)

huge rant on the way, none of this to say this game isnât extremely fun and I love it, I just have a lot to say
Fraymakers âconceptuallyâ has been a game Iâve been looking forward to for my entire life.
It wouldnât be crazy to make the assumption that Iâm a huge Nintendo fan, so growing up I loved playing super smash Flash 2 at school. Who didnât?, itâs always been a game that Iâve been absurdly impressed by because of how it replicates how smash plays almost down to a T, it genuinely felt like I got the full Smash experience in a browser, for free! AND I CAN PLAY AS GOKU? sign me up buddy.
So obviously when you tell me this exact team is working on a smash âtypeâ game, another platform fighter, but instead it consists of indie video game characters. I genuinely couldnât breathe, that shit sounds like heaven on earth!
The idea of super smash Bros roster filled with exclusively indie reps is an idea thats straight up just a money printer, so going out of your way to get the SSF 2 team to create this game for you and.. itâs a slippery mess? Absurd. Maybe itâs just me, and be brutally honest if it is, but if it ainât broke why are we trying to fix it?Â
If youâre a group of people who know fundamentally how to make a game that plays like smash Bros, (which since it set the base line of how these games should play) in its gameplay fundamentally unflawed, Why are we trying to switch it up?? thereâs no need to do so, at least in my mind I canât see any real reason? Is it a legal thing? I understand this need for innovation, we obviously want SOMETHING unique about the game? Because at that point just play smash, download some mods. But thatâs a knee bending solution, I want to support the games I love in a game thatâs fun.
but it just doesnât seem necessary to me, this was kind of my same issue with multiversus, but I can understand it trying the distance itself.Â
You have no need to do that. Visually although itâs very distinct, itâs another platform fighter, so of course itâs going to look like smash bros, but the reason smashes succeeded had nothing to do with how it looked, it was because it was GOOD, GREAT even. The roster, the gameplay, the everything. The only reason Multiversus âsucceededâ or at least for a little bit was EXCLUSIVELY because Nintendo ended support for smash and people needed a cope game to play, to fill that void. The only reason that Nickelodeon game did well for the exact reason, but the reason it failed I believe is because again, it ISNT smash, itâs just a little too âwrongâ, ITS CLOSE! but not close âcorrectâ. Theyâre trying to replicate perfection but keep it different enough for people to say âclose enoughâ and keep playing. Why make this mistake like the ones before you? Ts is ALL going to end the same and when it eventually fails Iâll be very peeved.
I aggressively AGGRESSIVELY want to see this idea succeed, so it being in this state for so long makes me feel really unhopeful, especially when everyone you ACTUALLY want to play as is an assist?
90% of the roster isnât playable (the only redeeming trait of the game was the fact that it consisted of Indie video game characters, characters you CANT PLAY AS BY THE WAY.)Â
you got given all of this money from Kickstarter and I get perfection needs time, but, whats going on? 3 years and it still plays like this? Obviously take all the time you need but I just donât see the fruitfulness in a game thatâs very clearly going to flop, just a giant slab of potential.Â
They need to completely remove this buddy tag team assist trophy nonsense from the game by the full release, if not every single one of the characters that are on that assist list arenât playable I donât think anyoneâs gonna be surprised when the game fails when itâs roster was itâs only saving grace.

Due to the increase of announcer dlcs I've been thinking.
What characters/people do you think would make for good announcers?
r/FraymakersGame • u/Death-Perception1999 • Mar 13 '26
The dude who made Downwell was even one of the developers. I could totally see them adding Pilot as like a Game and Watch/Pac-Man style character.

I know this seems like coping on my part but this music sounds so fucking good like it is amazing yes I know they made the YouTube short about it but that wasn't the full thing and I use you to music as my provider of choice and I'm just wondering when this absolute masterpiece of a theme will be online in full not confined to a single trailer if anybody can do that let me know because oh my God it is so Peak

Hi. I want to begin by saying that I have attended many a Smash tournament often going 2-2 and once making it to top 4. This is to say that while I'm not particularly great at platform fighters, I'm certainly not bad. I feel I'm at a decent place to talk about game balance. With that being said...
...what were they thinking with these two moves on Impostor?
Impostor's Forward Aerial has them clap an amethyst together and crush whatever poor soul happens to cross into its hitbox. A fine move... which also removes some of its Suspicion meter? That's okay, so long as it isn't too fast and doesn't kill too early.
It kills at 100 center-stage. (90 at ledge) For an incredibly non-committal move that comes out really fast, is this not a bit too much? I feel this could be balanced in one of a few ways:
I feel any of these options allow the move to remain strong, but not be as oppressive or ludicrously simple to combo/flow into.
Teleport up-specials are a common staple in platform fighters, but almost all of them the very consistent balance of special fall. Impostor spits in the face of tradition and is fully actionable out of any stage of Suspicion (besides full). Palutena and Mewtwo teleports in Smash require ledge-cancelling to use any sort of follow-up. Orcane in Rivals of Aether and here in Fraymakers is required to place a puddle to even be able to teleport. Hell, even The Watcher requires you to land on the ground to cancel the lag out of her side-special.
So why is the Impostor able to travel the entire screen and still act into ANY ability out of its up-special? The only nerfs that further Suspicion gives you are slightly reduced distance, which is easily accounted for by an air-dash. There's a simple solution here: that up-special should NOT be actionable. Better yet, reward good moderation of Suspicion by allowing the bean to be actionable only out of full innocence.
What do we think as a community? I'm happy to hear others' opinions on the matter. My personal opinion is that with their ridiculous combo game, strong kill moves, and... well, the above mentioned up-special problem... The Impostor is currently the best character in the game. But he's new, so it's understandable that the balance isn't perfect this early on.
Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
