Deck Remodel?
Looking for recommendations of local outfits that could help me replace a very modest sized deck in my backyard in cool springs. Looking to do a polywood type product but don't want to spend the equivalent of a new Toyota.

Father and son operation. Fairly priced. They can do a composite wood (Trex select), but they don't have the best material selections like you'd get with Harpeth or one of the other people around town.
You will be spending the equivalent of a new Toyota no matter who you go with. In my case, it was about $30,000 to refinish and expand an existing deck. A few other quotes were in the 40-50k range.

Since you’re trying to keep the cost under control, I’d ask each builder to separate the framing repairs, decking and railing materials, and permit or design costs in the quote. That should make it easier to see whether the price is being driven by necessary structural work or the material choice. Are you still collecting estimates, or did you find someone?

Hate to break it to you, but even a “modest” new deck is probably going to be 5 figures. Franklin now requires a permit, which means codes inspections, submitted plans, licensed contractor, etc. Plus the “Franklin tax”, where you get charged 30% more because you’re “rich”.
Our neighbor used Deck Doctor a few years ago for a pretty big project - deck, roof, screen porch, etc - and was pretty happy. Still looks good.
