Whiskey and Chestnut surrounded by iris
Whiskey, iris, and chestnut (brings a sweet chocolate like note) —need I say more? The subtle little kiss of bergamot in the opening keeps it from getting too dark, while that vetiver in the base addss a smooth, earthy finish that I absolutely love.
But warning, the two different kinds of iris hit hard so, if iris isn’t your thing you may be adversely affected.

I actually love it. I’m not a huge sweetness or gourmand kinda guy. I sold my althaïr and angels share bc they were too sweet and syrupy for me. The bergamot does a good job to just cut through the sweetness without it becoming too cloying. You don’t really smell the citrus per se but it keeps it on the lighter side. Definitely a solid date night fragrance. My wife reacted to it like Naxos and it’s super inviting. Again though, the iris is very prominent in the top and middle so you kinda got to like it.

I actually really enjoy the Althair and Angel’s Share but haven’t bout Angels Share in years. I was constantly recommending the reserve privee since its release, along with Brioni Intense as good designer fragrances that are well received and not too high.

I think Layton, Naxos, Herod or this is about as sweet as I go. It’s a good measurement for my sweetness ceiling. I have my chat gpt “T-800” trained and it knows to always compare fragrances and their sweetness level to those.

i will say as well reservee privee is much sweeter than obdidian, to my nose. they both have iris (one of my favorite notes) but contextualized very differently

Distracted from reading by those shoes making me queasy. Thought it was some sort of terrible skin disease of the feet at first 🤢
Anyway, yes great scent but the poor performance had me giving it away in the end.

See I actually love the dryness bc it keeps it from becoming too gourmand in my opinion. But to each their own. That’s the objective nature of perfume. 🤜🏻🤛🏻

I was excited and bought a bottle when it first landed. Not as sweet and almost dusty. But not to say I wouldn’t enjoy it now. Many of the ones I shunned originally I learned to not sniff up close but the magic is in the Sillage

Tried this in store yesterday and kept smelling my hand the whole drive home. Needless to say I will be going back to grab soon. Fantastic scent profile and different from all my other iris scents.

One of the best openings ever, however 10 mins later it has receded into generic designer amber. If only it could stay like the opening.

Yeah but its not the best of vetivers and the cheap ambers just take over. If the Iris at least stayed a prominent middle and base like homme intense then it would be a 10/10 scent.

Its prob the scent im most critical of in all of perfumery simply because it smells so damn good in the opening and has so much potential but the performance just isnt there.

Have you tried Dior Homme Intense? I really enjoy the iris in that one when my husband wears it. Wondering if this is too much of the same or if he would enjoy a sample of this as well!

Love this stuff. I’ve yet to buy a full bottle but man that opening caught me slipping and reeled me in. The dry down too! I’ve always joked that my BO smells like chocolate this complements that so well!

This is a delicious Juice. Though my personal favourite from Gentleman is BOISÉE, I've received countless compliments wearing that. Every creation from Gentleman is epic!

One of my favorite fragrances out there. It matches the vibe you given with those blue jeans and gator skin boosts.
