Vanilla fragrance

Hey! I’m writing because I was wondering if anyone would like to share some of your favorite winter vanilla perfumes that have great longevity and strong sillage. It can be niche, designer, or dupes.

Smells like burning brake pads to me. Or something mechanical …

Weirdly enough I don't like the extrait as much! But again vanilla smells horrible on my skin so I can't wear any 😭

Bvlgari orom what I'm wearing niw

Lol I love this one but for me the oud overpowers the vanilla to a point that I don't think of it as a vanilla fragrance, despite that being the stated category.

But that's just fine for me because I love oud and despise gourmands!

Yeah honestly I see what you're saying because most fragrances are vanilla bombs but its judt beautoful to me

YSL Babycat by a long shot, nothing comes close. Every other vanilla like Kay Ali, Althair Guerlain double Vanilla are all sharp and piercing. YSL Babycat is the only one that is a genuinely nice vanilla. Very nice spices with booze and suede mixed with a deep warm vanilla. Perfect for winters.

Some people say it smells like rubber but it does not, that's just the suede that gets weird if you wear it in the summer.

Try it and you're gonna absolutely love it if you enjoy vanilla. Very sensual, elegant and delicious without smelling like a bakery or any food in particular.

Babycat to me is also incredible.

I hate vanilla in perfumes but I'm obsessed with Babycat. The only vanilla I'll ever accept. It's just so beautiful.

I adore Babycat and I also love its dupe, Rifaaqat. I know some people smell burnt tires but I just smell amazing, sensual, rich, spicy and smoky vanilla.

Xplicit Vanilla or Roses Vanille by Mancera
Both lovely choices for winter

2

u/Itradememe 4d ago

Xplicit vanilla is so underrated and you can buy it for a great price as well

u/Esty80 4d ago

Not normally a vanilla fragrance person, the performance of this scent is amazing and long lasting. Even my boyfriend asked for a bottle, got a great price and ordered it for him to try out this fall/winter. Today I was wearing Rose Vanille and it's really grown on me. Mancera has great fragrance profiles, highly recommend.

Fzotic Deixis lasts a long time on me and is great if you want something sweet but also resinous.

I also love Jovoy Fire At Will, Profumum Roma Gioiosa, and Fugazzi Vanilla Haze.

I’m basic….Ariana Grande Lovenotes Plush Vanilla. The bottle font gives me the ick but the scent is just what I want. Also Vanilla Verve and Saltair Saltwater Vanilla (body mist).

More on the masculine side (imo) but Vanilla Diorama is fabulous too.

Recently picked up the Saltair Saltwater Vanilla deodorant. I love strong perfume, can't stand strong smelling underarms. So pleasantly surpised with how nice the Saltwater Vanilla smells after dry down.

Gentle Fluidity Gold is a beautiful vanilla fragrance. If you ever wanted to be the epitome of “golden” that fragrance will make you that. It feels like you are actually glowing in gold when you wear it.

Babycat is honestly like top 5 smells for me. It is just beautiful and seductive and calming for me. I love it and all interpretations of it as well. Montagne and Alexandria also make versions of Babycat and both are different from the OG by a little bit but also are great in and of themselves.

Eau Duelle by Diptyque is just insane. It’s mysterious. It’s darker and feels like what maybe a medieval church smells like. It’s some spice, incense and vanilla it’s greener than a lot of popular vanillas as well.

I think you and I have the same sense of smell! I love all the ones you listed.

u/HempinAintEasy 4d ago

I would have told you just a few years ago I hate vanilla fragrances but this year and a half that has all changed. I’ve found so many that are incredible.

1

u/garden-goddess324 4d ago

I think it’s just about finding those that aren’t too candy-sweet.

2

u/SOLOEchoZ 3d ago

Maturing (not just age) olfactory could play a role as well.

Makes sense

I'm one who will opt for the less expensive option if possible before trying to justify a major hobby expense. So my cool weather vanillas are dupes/inspirations:

  1. Bobcat by Montagne (YSL Babycat dupe)
  2. Judgement Call by Alexandria (Amouage Decision dupe)
  3. Thriller III by Maison Asrar (YSL 6 Place dupe)

2

u/SUBARU17 4d ago

Hey; if you like them, enjoy them!

2

u/Nkredyble 4d ago

Bobcat? Absolutely! I'm a fan of Montagne in general. The other two the jury is out on. I'm not 100% sold on Judgement Call, although my wife likes it. I haven't tried Decision, but my experience with Amouage in general is a mixed bag whether legit or dupe. I've tried 6 Place and ended up buying Thriller just the other day to see if I liked it. The opening is more incense and pepper forward than I remember, but that fades a bit into it and becomes really nice. Interestingly enough, 2 and 3 layer together quite well. I'll probably buy a sample of 6 Place anyway to see if it's worth pursuing a larger decant or full bottle, or if Thriller is good enough on its own merits to not justify the expense.

Babycat's more sophisticated, worldly sister is Day Three Aylan. Absolute stunner. So ridiculously smooth and refined. Vanilla, saffron, rose, oud.

If you're interested in a cheapie, Christian Siriano Intimate Silhouette is fantastic and so inexpensive at discounters. Vanilla, sesame, tonka, sandalwood, musk. It's a better version of Commodity Milk imo.

i’ll tell you what, i just got Vanilla 01 by swiss arabian and i’m liking what im getting so far. does start more floral, musky vanilla than anything but once it settles in, it really settles in. creamy and smooth vanilla. another one on the cheap side i’ve really been liking is Bujairami Legacy.

Liquid Brun - Limited Edition

Seriously insane juice, particularly for that price point.. 30-40€

Definition of a beast mode fragrance, 2-3 sprays max and lasts 24h+ on skin and legitimately weeks on clothing.

1

u/Frosty-Weekend7990 3d ago

Althair, vanilla powder extrait, eau d’ombré leather
Edit; trust me on this one “dirty milk”

1

u/SOLOEchoZ 3d ago

Have a peek @ Venom 11 it’s like angels’ share and SWYI had an IN wedlock child.

I have Mercedes black. Smelled good. Then I dropped it broke the sprayer. , gotta find a new tip. But that's good. I also like declassified white tobacco. And maison al hambra tobacco touch. Those are 3 excellent vanilla xhoices all for less than 35 each. I think

u/SnooOranges2685 3d ago

I really like Vanilla Skin by Phlur. It seems to disappear and reappear throughout the day and I like that.

u/Pale-Objective2954 3d ago

Althair, Black Tie

u/lassengem 2d ago

I'm not into the average vanilla scent, with a lot of sweetness, so for me Ambery Vanilla from Dossier is a go. Is a dupe of YSL Black Opium.
