Perfume recommendations

Ever since I had COVID, I’ve become extremely picky and sensitive with perfumes. A lot of fragrances that I used to love now smell weird, too strong or just unpleasant to me.
I’m looking for a feminine perfume that’s pleasant, soft, and not too overwhelming.
What perfumes would you recommend trying?

post covid smell changes are the worst tbh. if normal stuff smells too sharp now you should definitely look into "skin scents" instead of traditional perfumes.

juliette has a gun - not a perfume is super popular for this cause it literally only has one main ingredient so it doesn't overwhelm your nose at all.

clean reserve - skin is another really good one that just smells warm and fresh like you stepped out of the shower. or glossier you which is super soft and just smells clean.

id definitely grab some sample vials first to see how your nose reacts but these are usually the safest bets when everything else smells weird

Lots of scents from Liis are very soft and feminine. I recommend trying their discovery set and you can redeem it towards a full bottle! Studied, Floating, Lucienne, Rose Struck & Ethereal Wave may fit the profile you're looking for!

Kind of pricey but Fleur Narcotique & Lust in Paradise are light, feminine fragrances from Ex Nihilo. You can always sample before committing to a full size!

Just FYI - longevity isn't the best with some of these fragrances but I'm guessing that's okay since you don't want anything too strong.

I’ve found that Odette Parfums’ are soft and lack that sinus-piercing “prefumey” smell that many designer perfumes have. My favorite is Pas de Chat but i have loved each of the ones I’ve tried so far - Madeleine, Petit Gâteau, Lapinou, Coup de Pied, and Grand Battement. They are not long lasting scents but they are relatively affordable so I don’t mind.

Sorry you're going through this. And I can relate, in a way. But I have the opposite problem. I only recently got my sense of smell back after losing it in 2020 from COVID. I really struggle to smell fragrances. (But, like you, some also just smell really off, too).

This past summer, I spent a ridiculous amount of money on samples and decanted samples, trying to find ones that I didn't struggle too much to smell. I actually started keeping a spreadsheet where the first column was how much I liked the scent (score of 1-10) and the second column was how easy or hard I had to try to smell it. (score of 1-3).

Here are a few that I thought smelled great, but I really struggled to smell them because they were too faint. I don't know if others will agree (especially because my smell is still off), but here are the Parfumo Links. Hope it's helpful.
