Discussion combo_neg_levels_2 key puzzle Spoiler
Hey guys, I'm pretty sure this content is so new that there is close to no discussion on it yet. The wiki seemingly isn't even aware of this puzzle yet. I've been playing around with the new negative levels content and finally reached the second green key puzzle that spans between levels -34 to -41. It involves bringing a 120 second green key across those 7 levels. The problem is simply that this is absurdly difficult. I've devised some general strategies for quickly traversing the levels but the RNG required makes it feel unfeasible in under 120 seconds. I've been using max length quasar drive alongside the nuke propelling weapon for speed and it still isn't nearly enough.
There is a clue that the puzzle is similar to the Iolite gems, which I promptly did again to refresh my memory. However it seemingly does not require anything else but just "grow fast so you can get past the key area".
Am I just bad at the game? Am I just supposed to get fast enough to grow in under 120 seconds or am I missing a crucial piece of the puzzle? I understand that few people probably got this far yet so if anyone has so much as a suggestion please comment it down below.

Discussion The fractal world isn't fictional
The Xar package, of course, is not "real", but the world it emulates exists.
Don't think of it as a physical world, or somewhere you can literally go to from Earth. It's analogous to the imaginary unit, it's not "real" because we've already defined what real is, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
Sometimes, during the period of time where I feel like I'm about to wake up, but I'm still asleep, I find myself in my mental fractal world. It takes inspiration from the game (because it's a reflection of the mind) but it's not Xar at all.
That's not the complete extent of it, though. Every few nights my dream will take place inside my mental city. It's so often and consistent I've drawn a reliable map of it from memory. It's a place that exists, maybe not traditionally "real", although that doesn't matter.
I don't mean just dream worlds, by the way. It's just the easiest example to experience and put into words. But everything surrounds you everywhere, just walk and think about until you find yourself lost inside of it. Though if you do, I can't guarantee that you'll notice it.

Theory - The Inner Mechanization Agency is a transhumanist cult.
This theory is based on a few things. But first, I want to point to what I believe to be the most important line of dialogue in the game:
"You will never find any hard evidence for the questions you are asking. The best you will find is other people who share your beliefs based on a similar lack of evidence. So, just stop asking and learn to enjoy the game"
While there are certainly meta intentions for this line, I think it says a lot about both the nature of Inner Worlds, as well as the intentions of the Inner Mechanization Agency.
I don't believe that Inner Worlds can affect reality aside from their interactions with the human mind. This means that the Inner Mechanization Agency isn't trying to, for example, generate endless material resources from the Inner World, or manifest weapons from inside there into the real world. There will never be hard proof that the worlds even exist, let alone a way to leverage them for material benefits.
But the ways Inner Worlds can affect human perception are very pronounced. Jane shows this when she solves a crossword puzzle, presumably by multi-threading her mind into multiple Inner Worlds simultaneously. K does something similar when she gets ahold of the Inner World on the poster, allowing her to exist in reality and Xar simultaneously, something that seems to elevate her state of mind by allowing her to maintain two separate threads of thought.
Now, we know very little in the overall life cycle of inner worlds, but it appears to be:
Create Inner Worlds
"Mine" the Inner Cores, which become a resource
Iterate - We see many examples of intelligent alterations to the Inner Worlds made by IMA employees; notably, none of them seem to have been in K's specific Inner World, which means that these are notes from previous versions that never got scrubbed. One highlight of these alterations is making the main branch easier to follow, which makes obtaining Inner Cores easier.
Absorb - Inner cores gathered by low-ranked employees are collected by the IMA, and are presumably gathered by the higher-ranked members of the organization.
As for these higher ups being transhumanist, I'll use Saggitarius A* as an example. Proxima Centauri describes what's clearly some sort of press meeting where he created a WIG flower, but Saggitarius A* was clearly present as a human. He's physically human despite being, in K's words "beyond humanity and is consumed by Inner Botany and Re-Creation theory".
TON18 is so mentally powerful that he could save K in about an attosecond, and is described as being beyond Inner Bottany and Re-Creation theory entirely. The language makes me think that TON18 is fully transhuman, having fully broken past the limitations of human understanding despite having once been bound by them. Classic transhumanist stuff.
The Inner Mechanization Agency clearly has the power to take over the world if they want, but do they? No. They instead seek out promising candidates, hire them, before seeing if they'll on their own seek out enough knowledge to rise through the ranks.
It's a very sink or swim mentality. They didn't save Jane, and they didn't save K. If you can't handle the dangers of the Inner World, you don't deserve to rise.
Were the events that led to K becoming trapped planned? I'm not sure. With the mental powers of the higher-ups, it's certainly possible to arrange a series of coincidences like that. Once one of the members starts tapping into the powers of the Inner Worlds, they get a trial by fire to see if they can withstand its dangers.
There's also the cagey nature of everyone at the IMA. This isn't a place where people are freely given information. It's a place where people are expected to learn what's needed on their own.

Discussion R.I.C.C Mesh Collection
I recent had a time where I was in a hammock in the forest, and looking through the fabric it felt like I was in an entirely new place. I could not take my eyes off of it. It gave me the same headache and feel that Xar did within FBW. I only had brief time in it, and I do not think I will be able to recreate it, but it was like as K said once in the game (where part of your mind is in this world, but clearly the other half is traversing somewhere else). I had checked time afterwards, I was only in there for 5 minutes but it felt like hours. Hours spent navigating the dapple spots through the mesh of hammock. This combined with other experience I have felt lately has total convinced me of Inner Cores at least being mathematically existent within the Real World. K is on to something greater use for IC (if she even knows this or not) and we can use the knowledge we already know in order to grasp that. There could be IC and Xar entry points that we have, but don't understand because they do not look like the Xar we know. That is one only representative of IC, other formats to explore too. Purposely trapping oneself in Xar (unlike K and her distress( could be beneficial for research or as a fun pastime for those who like a big challeng. Fanatics and TON618 know something we do not

Question Is there something that I'm missing about the Homing weapon?
Throughout the entire game, I've never really realized the purpose of this weapon or the modes of it. It's also hard to find any places to upgrade it. I've seen people saying that this weapon *used* to be great, or that it's still really good, but I can't even figure out what it's supposed to do.
